We went to grab ingredients for a delicious grilled taco night and were not disappointed. Marinated skirt steak, pico, and pickled onions were superb! We also grabbed refried beans, tortillas, and various bakery items. We will absolutely be returning. I wanted a fresh made meal but we weren’t hungry at the time 💔

Carnicería el Semental is a fantastic and authentic family-owned gem on the Northside, operating as both a restaurant and a full market. It is a must-try locale that the area needs. The restaurant section offers absolutely delicious food, including fantastic carne asada tacos, amazing birria ramen, Sonoran dogs, burros, birria, and house-made beef tamales. The best burros and a must-try Sonoran hot dog are highlights. A small salsa bar provides great house-made salsas, from green to red.
The market is a well-stocked Hispanic grocery store and meat butcher shop. The really nice meat counter features house-made beef jerky, many marinated meats, and excellent al pastor and carne asada. It also carries supplies like Crema Mexicana and Cotija Polovo, plus a small selection of groceries, tomatoes, onions, and lots of tortillas. The owner is amazing and the service is always friendly. The place is always very clean, making it a highly recommended five-star stop.
