El Cayo did not disappoint. Their Ribeye aguachil is delicious. A little pricey but 2 people can share it. Also their camarones aguachile was really good.
A Hidden Gem That Deserves to Shine!
We stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon around 3:45 PM and were surprised it wasn’t busier—though it’s still a fairly new spot (open less than a year), so that’s to be expected. Hopefully, that changes soon because this place deserves to be packed!
The food? Absolutely wonderful. We ordered the Camarones Rellenos, Toritos Especiales (4 pcs), and even a simple cheeseburger with fries—and every single item had its own unique, delicious flavor we just couldn’t put our finger on. We even tried to guess the “secret ingredient,” but the owner made it clear: the magic is in the mystery! And honestly, we respect that.
The atmosphere was quiet but comfortable, with good music playing in the background. You can tell this would be a fun, lively place when the crowd rolls in—especially on weekends.
If you’re craving flavorful Mexican seafood (or just a tasty burger), give this place a try. It’s more than worth it, and we’ll definitely be back!
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a great place to enjoy a drink and have a great meal.
Great food! I’m mexican and some of the best guacamole I’ve ever had
Wanted to take family out for a nice dinner. Food was ok, waitress pleasant but we could not get out of there fast enough. There was a band in the room adjacent and no one in that room. They were not playing music. It sounded like warming up. It was very loud and random. So we could not hold a conversation and it was unpleasant. When we arrived at 6:45 pm peak dinner time the parking was deserted. Thats always a clue. I do not understand how this had such a high rating. The Quesadilla Gubernador was tasty.
Food was excellent and service was great. However, my margarita was too sweet (I couldn't even finish it) and I'm surprised there aren't more reviews about the music. A band started warming up? Around 7 VERY loud. It's a small space and it was only us and a few others. They'd bang on the drums for a minute then stop and start again. That went on until we left around 7:45. You could even hear the people next to you.
Agree on the service praise. Victor was phenomenal. The food options are good. Not just typical fare. Would defintely come again.
Amazing service and excellent food. The lemonade was the best I've had. Amazing shrimp tacos and the rice was good as well. I've never asked to take my rice home until eating here. I'll be back on my bike. It will be a spot I keep on rotation for ride days now. I'd ride the hour just for those stuffed chilli appetizers.
Delicious food, good service and really nice owner.
Wonderful little gem of a restaurant. Amazing and interesting menu. Great service. Highly recommend the fish and shrimp tacos. So glad we stopped!
