I really wanted to love these cookies, but I have no intention of returning. Cookie Plug is located near the vibrant campus of University of AZ, where many people- especially students- can stop by and order cookies that are large in size and bursting with flavor. Unfortunately, some of those flavors tasted like soap, but I'll explain shortly.

The store is very inviting with its bold colors and hip phrases. It was my first visit, so I got the whole run-down of what they were selling, which included cookies, a beverage called 'Purple Drank', and some merchandise, including stickers. The cashier was super nice, and I want to commend her for her hospitality. It honestly pains me to score so low because of how kind she treated me, but I hope this can be taken as a learning experience.

I tried a sample of 'Purple Drank' but wasn't interested in buying it; it tasted like water with a splash of lemon. I ordered 'Plug Poppers' which are a mini assortment of all the main flavors. I was really excited to taste the 'Purple Haze, Firecracker, and Snooperdoodle,' but in a twist of cruel irony, these ended up being some of my least favorites. It was the flavors that I was hesitant to try that ended up being very good, like the 'Pink Elephant' which tastes of strawberry cheesecake and the 'Bam Bam' which is a cookie with fruit cereal like the popular brand, 'Fruity Pebbles.' Those two tasted like actual cookies, with the right amount of sweetness and chewy in the middle.

Most of the others were underwhelming, but the absolute worst is without a doubt, the 'Crunch Nugget' & 'Firecracker.' These cookies had none of the delicious chocolate, peanut butter, or marshmallow flavor. Instead, it tasted like pure soap, as if I was washing my tongue with a block of it. My friend, who also ordered 'Plug Poppers' said they did not taste any soap in their cookies, so I feel that must be made known. Maybe the ones I had was baked incorrectly somehow, but it has made a negative impact to how I view the place now.

Whenever I'm craving cookies, I often think back to Cookie Plug and how I'm still curious to try their large assortment, but then I worry if I'll get the same tastes as last time. Out of the 10+ flavors, two of them I hated, two of them I loved, and the rest were just mediocre. I wouldn't trust going back there again unless I really wanted to buy my favorites one more time. But even though my favorites were good, they aren't THAT good to test my luck again.

Cookie Plug has great potential, but it missed the mark with me.

I ordered seven cookies online. Super inexpensive compared to other popular places in town. They showed up nice and crispy, and the receipt had a really sweet note on it. Thanks so much to that person.

Too expensive, too sweet, and cookies were too dry for me. Even after “heating up” which wasn’t barely even warm at all.

Overall a pretty cool place. Can’t say I loved the cookies but they were still enjoyable! The lady working the counter was really nice and the atmosphere gave off funky fun vibes. Fair priced.

Been twice in the last 7 days and both times have been helped by Thea! She is awesome and very kind, first visit she explained the cookies and ordering process very well and made me feel confident coming back to get more. Second visit she remembered us and even the cookie I wanted to buy bulk dough of the first time! Cookies are amazing so soft and imaginative flavors! Lemonade is great too, the prices are great compared to other cookie stores in town and definitely will be a repeat customer!
