Dragon's View has been around for a while and it shows in the decor. Need some updating in the dining area and buffet area. I had the buffet and was kind of disappointed from my last visit, which was probably about 5 years ago. Surprisingly there weren't that many people there during lunch hour, but maybe because people are seeing what I see. I could have gone on an off day, but with the GEM Show in town I definitely woud have expected a much bigger crowd. Service was not there as well. When we came in we were told to go ahead and sit where we wanted. The Buffet line was looking OK. Seemed like some of the trays were there for a while. Lot of empty trays. I had some fried rice, orange chicken, noodles, crab puffs, green beans, and sweet and sour pork. Everything tasted good except the sweet and sour pork. It was a mushy ball of fat. I'm not usually this negative but they need to change this up. I'm going to recommend with caution as I only had the Buffet but possibly the menu entrées might offer something different. Let me add that the person I was with enjoyed their Lunch. :)
Celebrating the 2019, Year of the Pig. Plus the Pan Asian Community Alliance 24th Annual Lunar New Year 🎉. The food was exquisite. It was the Traditional Chinese Banquet Dinner. Includes the Hundred Flowers Blossom, Longevity and Health, Each Step to Higher Heaven, Ying Yang, Jade and Green Celebrate, Spirit of Dragon and Horse, Golden Vegetarian Delight, One Book with Thousand Fortunes, Riches and Abundance and Honey and Sweet.
The lunch buffet is amazing for the price. Low volume of patrons makes it a relaxing lunch that make you, and allows you to, come back for more
Feels like soup kitchen- no atmosphere. Empty trays not refilled looks like left overs.
I have been here many times but it has been a little bit since my last visit. They serve a lunch buffet from 11-2...this was by far my worst experience. I got there at 12:30 and all but two of my normal dishes were empty. Wings were all taken in first 5 minutes. No food was ever refilled while I was there. Felt like the front wasn't talking to the back. Even the ice cream was subpar. They have the cooler turned down too low. The ice cream was so freezer burnt I couldn't even eat it.
Food was over cooked dry.. place was filthy barely could get soy sauce out of jar so clogged looked like not been cleaned ever.. and worst is waitress was slow could barely communicate properly and off putting over all sucked...
Food taste awesome but the quantity is a little low. Overall very good though.
The best Szechuan tofu I've ever had!
Food was great as always but the bathrooms are terrible so if you go eat make sure you use the bathroom before you get there.
I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years (when I lived here in the 90's and after 2006). It can be hit or miss. The food is hot, the AC is broken, the food is warm, the AC is working. The buffet has a good selection, ordering from the menu has been great. I see native Chinese people eating here (some of the wait staff are Chinese born, some are native).
Restaurantji Recommends
This place sucks. People who work there barely speak English and had bad attitude. I ordered 3 fried rice for to go but they didn't even give me chopsticks, napkins or anything else but rice. So when I got back to work I had to make my own chopsticks. My friends were pissed and food taste nasty. The money is wasted and will never go back there again
The food was hot and delicious. The service was.OK, but not too friendly The prices are a little too.high for what you get. Still, if you want tasty Chinese food, I would recommend this place.
Best Chinese restaurant east, north, and south of San Francisco. I have been there teice and the food was incredible both times. Vegetables were cooked to perfection. Look forward to trying new dishes each visit.
Highly recommend the crab fishmaw soup, roast duck, and 3 cup chicken. I'm gonna try their lobster in green onion and garlic sauce soon. It's of those places where you need to know what to order because food is great. Finally found a great Cantonese style restaurant in town that's not so Americanized in taste. All these people that gave this place 1 star ordered orange and sesame chicken. Please go to Panda Express if that's what you're seeking lol. This place has really good authentic Chinese food and I'm definitely coming back as a regular.
Awesome place, waiters and waitresses are super nice. Once I forgot to bring a lighter with me and asked them for one. They spent few minutes and brought a lighter to me. Recommend!
