Had both breakfast and dinner. Both were very good. Portions were large. Felt like I got my money’s worth. Servers were attentive and friendly.

tried them for sunday brunch. the buffet would have been the better choice, but we opted to order off the menu. the chilaquiles were not good. waitress recommended green instead of traditional red chili (mistake) which a) was way too much of it, and b) very tart/tangy. also not enough cheese; could barely find any. the other entree was green chili tamales. the tamales also were not great. oh well - this is a convenient place for a meal before attending an event at tcc or the music hall, but the food wasn't great. service was good, but my water tasted like it was filtered through a dirty dish rag. how the heck does that happen??

Visiting from out of town. This place was great! Excellent food and beverages. (far above average) Had all the games on TV. Spacious seating and super comfortable. Friendly staff. I don’t understand why the ratings are low.

They have a new Chef at El Mesquite .The food is absolutely delicious .Chicken Mole not only was very good but had saffron in it and the vegetables all cooked perfectly .The guacamole dip I recommend .And ice cream Sunday with churros for dessert .An excellent dinner .

Going to the Theatre? Location, location, and a drink before a matinee and dinner after. Best Crisps and very good Mole!

I travel from Phoenix to Tucson for work routinely. One of the reasons I stay at this hotel is because I like this restaurant. I know I can enjoy watching a game at the bar and have a nice dinner. After driving two hours to get there, I really don’t want to get back in the car to go eat somewhere else. This is a great bonus for me. The 3 chicken enchiladas are my go-to so far.

Everything was perfect, we were seated on time and the drinks were served right away. The food was served hot and fast. The staff was very polite. We highly recommend this place. Thank you.

Bad experience. We arrived 3 minutes early for our reservation and were told to wait, even though there were empty tables. After being seated for 20 minutes with no service, we grabbed a waitress and asked her to take our order. Food wasn’t very good. They had an abbreviated menu for that night.

What a train wreck!!! We were seated -late- and sat at our table for 20 minutes without even a glass of water offered. No server stopped at our table. We left. The only appropriate response! We have enjoyed El Meszquite in the past - the food was excellent and service attentive. Was the place busy last night? Yes - lots of events in downtown Tucson. But there's no excuse for not staffing appropriately when you know you'll be really busy. There's no excuse for ignoring patrons. Horrible experience. We won't be back.

The table we reserved was at the kitchen door for servers and waitstaff. It was really busy. Could use a pony wall to break the area between dining area and kitchen door. The air conditioner was very loud with a strange whirl sound that vibrates off the ceiling and rings your ears. We ordered the Topopo salad which was crazy spicy, it was supposed to have avacado and vinaigrette dressing and there was no avocado and we didn't taste vinaigrette dressing at all. Very disappointing dinner. The service was very fast and efficient with polite staff.
