I went here looking for a place that servers coffee. I was slightly annoyed with myself for not reading the reviews to see that they sell coffee to brew at home. When I walked in, the most amazing smell of roasted coffee surrounded me and took me to a happy place. They have ground, whole bean and K-cups. I tried three sampler packs and discovered my favorite coffee ever. Bourbon Pecan Torte. Lightly flavored but full of flavor. Smooth and delightful. Run over and get some today!

Nice place to buy fresh roasted coffee. However, they don't brew and serve coffee at this location. My comment is not intended as a criticism of the business, just simply informational in nature. I definitely will return for more coffee.

This is a family-owned roaster, with a wide- variety of flavored and unflavored coffees (some of the options for flavored are wild!) as well as interesting teas. The proprietor was very knowledgeable about the blends and was able to direct me to some medium roast, low acid options. They sell beans and ground, as well as k-cups. They also sell loose tea as well as bagged tea. I confess I am also drawn to interesting names and beautiful packaging and Filthy Pirate has both. I also love that the back of the bag also talks about the flavor notes one can expect from each blend. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that they don't sell any brewed coffee (I thought from the outside this would be a cafe). I realize that's my fault for not looking online first, but still disappointing. I will be back to try some of their different blends!

I stopped by this last Friday to pick up some coffee before returning to Cleveland early the next morning. Three people in my household either have GERD or some other stomach issue where low acid coffee would be very helpful. I was excited to try some! Since it was a Friday, I didn't call for hours in advance thinking they would be open, my bad. I pulled up to the Filthy Pirate at 4:53 pm. I went up near the door to view hours because of the closed sign showing on the inside of the glass door. There was an inside door (vs the our glass door) that was also closed.Disappointed that it was closed,".

Filthy Pirate Coffee is an amazing Veteran owned small business. The owners are the sweetest. A must try if you are a coffee connoisseur. The coffee is absolutely scrumptious.I first tried the Sumatra Dark Bite dark roast. I like how the bags are resealable and I don't have to transfer them to another container or a different bag entirely - these are also easy to store in the cabinet too or display because the labels are definitely appealing and stand out. I was prepared for the Sumatra to be a bit darker - it seemed more like a medium roast to me, the flavor was still delicious nonetheless. I could definitely taste the sweet earthy tones in it which I liked.I also tried the Man O War Bourbon Pecan Torte for the first time. Man O Man this one was #1 across the board both hot or iced with a tad bit of sweet cream added. Absolutely delicious!! If you just get near the bag you can smell it and instantly want a cup of coffee. Its a light to medium roast but you'd never know it. Perfect for the changing of the seasons.

Some of the best coffee I’ve had the pleasure of trying. I spent a decade wearing a “Green Apron” most of that time as a Coffee Master. Learning more about coffee than most people. After getting my hands on Filthy Pirate Coffee I don’t think I’ll ever go back to whole bean purchases from my old norm. The low acidity and bold flavors made an immediate impact on my daily espresso. The Tanzania Dark Roast was a perfect pairing to the dark chocolate mochas I drink before work. I look forward to trying more of Filthy Pirate’s offerings in the near future.

Armed to the Teeth Dark Roast:The aroma from the bag screams high quality coffee. There are no chemical or unpleasant odors. At first taste I noticed rich flavor with a slight sweetness, followed by the expected bitterness of a dark roast which balances the sweetness perfectly. With the boldness this roast provides, I'm very pleasantly surprised at the lack of acidity. This is everything I could ask for in a dark roast and will likely become my go-to daily coffee.

Filthy Pirate is a local bright spot in the Northern Tucson Area, they have excellent service in their shop. They really take their time getting to know you and your coffee interests. Their coffee roasting is one of the best in town, with a variety of flavored coffee you may have never experienced. Horchata in my coffee? Who thinks of that? I was pleasantly surprised at how well this blend tasted in a pour-over and immersion brew. My personal recommendation and the reason I keep returning to Filthy Pirate is their Mutiny blend. That is my personal favorite and one that can be used for pour-overs and espresso.

Espresso Maker BrewedPot: Notes of earthy citrus that is gentle and light with a hint caramel aftertaste. perfect with a morning breakfast bagel. A very flavorful cup of coffee that I personally loved with a little splash of half and half.Espresso: Bolder more punchy notes of citrus with a mellow aftertaste. Would make a very nice caramel latte.I normally drink my coffee as espresso however with the Sangrenel Light Roast I preferred it brewed with the pot coffee maker. The flavors were easy to detect and a delight to the palette. I can imagine enjoying a cup with a friend over breakfast. Pot coffee maker won this round and it gets 5 stars!
