This is a great place to grab a good breakfast. The waitress was very nice and good at keeping our needs filled.

Classic local greasy spoon atmosphere with wonderful food and service. Don't leave without a cinnamon bun (1 will serve 4) or a slice of pie

Not very impressed. I should have have just went to Dennys. It wouldn't cost me 55 dollars to eat. The food was a no go for me. Steak was odd, fried potatoes were really gross, undercooked and dry. I didnt eat much of it and then all together I paid more than I expected. Definitely not going again. I feel bad too because we will always tip but we almost didnt pay for the food. The bread was the best part and thats all my fiance ate.

A good place for some breakfast. The food is standard or perhaps just above. The service is outstanding. The ladies working there are very kind, respectful and attentive. It's an older building but the inside seems clean and maintained. They have several different kinds of pies and plenty of breakfast options.

A Tucson classic.

Used to have the best ham and eggs in Tucson, not anymore. Ham looked like something out of a deli package and as small, potatoes were cooked to potato chip hardness. Too bad, used to be a favorite of mine, not anymore

Update: 11/16/24
Came in today for breakfast.
I love chicken fried steak for breakfast and this establishment serves up a fantastic chicken fried steak breakfast. I had mine with decaf, buttered raisin toast, poached eggs and hash browns slathered in gravy. OMG good
The most noteworthy aspect of my visit was the level of service l received from the server named Juliet.
Incredibly rare to receive such a high level of genuine old fashioned customer service in the post pandemic world of indifference, truly refreshing!

Original post:
Good old fashioned locally owned cafe.
I can't vouch for the lunch offerings, but breakfast is always top notched.
IMHO: Eating breakfast at Gus's has been a treat for many years now.

I'm a 38 year old who has been coming here since I was a kid. The food has never changed. It is the apidiemy of what a classic American dinner and their nostalgic properties. Best dinner on tucson.
