My wife and I got lunch here on our way back from hiking on Mount Lemmon. It happened to be on a Monday, so the 9 inch was cheaper than the 6 inch.
I ordered the Carmichael, with a handful of adjustments and options, but it was not only made fresh, but exactly as I asked. My wife got the meatball sub and it was right on the money. We both commented on how good the sandwiches were, and we told my dad, who lives in the area, about our find, since he loves sub sandwiches. I hope he gives it a try!

I've been coming here for years and always loved coming in to get a good meat ball sub or any sandwhich. but recently I was let down . the meatballs was dried and it looked like it wasn't made right and sloppy and missing a meatball. there were no marinera on the sub like how it used to be. I was soo happy coming here but now i change my mind. the employee didn't seem happy to be there and was somewhat rude. I never leave a bad review but today wasn't the greatest. and a let down for 50 bucks worth of food.

What more can you ask for!? They keep a clean family friendly environment that serves the best sandwiches and fried sides, big cheese pretzels and on tap root beer! I eat here almost weekly and never weakly. Always a treat when the owner is working the counter, but even when he’s not there, the food is good, the people are friendly and restaurant is clean. I work across the street and smell them grilling onions almost every day, the smell is amazing and always tempting. Thanks for being good to Tucson and keeping a good local business open and welcoming.

I love this place, consistently delicious sandwiches
the meats lacked flavor. there was supposed to be two kinds of salami and ham on the sandwich, but it all tasted like bologna. it was slathered in oil but no vinegar and no seasonings. This sandwich was boring. apparently they've been in business for over 60 years, and their walls are covered with images and logos of the local college team. so despite making a terrible sandwich, they seem to have a following. of course, considering there's a beloved Sandwich chain in this town called eegees that can best be described as hospital food, this place seems to be filling the pattern. I paid more here for a sandwich than I would for a sandwich. the same size at Jersey Mike's, and the Jersey Mike's sandwich would have been thicker and much more flavorful. If you're a local, you'll probably love the sandwich and you'll probably want to beat me with a hammer for even saying anything bad about it, but if you're not from here, stay away from this place.

The sandwich was FANTASTIC! I'm from Philadelphia, and I know what a real hoagie should taste like versus was BS tastes like. This place is legit. Like West Philly legit. As for the atmosphere, I have no clue as I got delivery. But to be honest, they could serve this food out of the trunk of an 84' Geo Metro, and it would still get 5 stars. I'm kinda annoyed I waited this long to try this place, but I will absolutely be coming back. To everyone at Hogie House, keep up the awesome work!
