I love this place. They don't serve nigiri, but their donburi, rolls, bento boxes and ramen dishes are excellent. They will do a motorcycle-specific packing job if they know you're on 2 wheels and are very gracious about it.

I ordered pork teppanyaki to go. When I got home I found that the sauce which was in a to go cup on the side, was frozen. I had to put it in the microwave to thaw. Very disappointing that it wasn’t made fresh.

I don’t live in Tucson but I am here couple times a month and eat all my meals out. I would not call Tucson flavor town. Most my meals are looking for something else. This place is great. Look at menu first then go up to order and a few minutes later great unpretentious food. Loved it

Food is okay, it doesn’t stand out. The restaurant is too tight.

Staff is nice. Service is fast. Prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for. Hole in the wall atmosphere. Teppan Chicken was SO dry, no flavor. My son was scared he would become ill from the sushi. Yakisoba Veg too sweet according to my daughter.

This is hands down our fave place for ramen and the tuna don is a weekly to-go item for us!

First time there. Fresh made sushi and awesome chicken curry.
It's not fancy. Basic atmosphere, which I like.

Review for Ikkyu Japanese Restaurant (Takeout Order)
I usually love coming to Ikkyu to dine in, but this time I only had time to grab some takeout. I ordered three ramens — Shoyu, Miso, and Tonkotsu — plus two different onigiri. The food itself is always excellent here; Ikkyu has never disappointed me on flavor, and they package their ramen really well with the noodles separated to keep everything from getting soggy.
The only hiccup today was a mix-up at checkout. After waiting about 15 minutes, I realized they rang me up for a miso soup instead of the miso ramen. They were kind and quick to fix the charge, but by the time everything got sorted, the other two ramens had already cooled down. Not the end of the world, just something to note if you’re grabbing food to go during a busy moment.
Communication can be a little tricky here because they still have the big COVID-era plastic guards up. It makes it harder for both sides to hear clearly, and I’m pretty sure that contributed to the order mix-up. Hopefully they update that setup soon, because the staff really is friendly and helpful.
Overall, I still highly recommend Ikkyu. It’s a small spot with a little patio, and while I haven’t tried their sushi, their ramen is always the star. I remember when they only served ramen a couple days a week — clearly everyone loved it, because now it’s available daily. Great flavors, great packaging, and despite the small hiccup, I’ll definitely be back.

Such a cozy place with delicious ramen! I love miso ramen and this broth was so flavorful. My husband loved his tonkatsu ramen-it had more of a kick than the ramen place near us and he enjoyed it!
The food was really good. I'm definitely going back when I'm in the area.
