So charmed by this old style diner outside of central Tucson. Add lunch sized chicken topopo salad which was perfect.

Opening in 1949, Karichimaka is one of the few iconic restaurants still in operation. I remember going to it in the 1970's. The food is still great and the service is excellent. I had the chicken enchiladas, 2 for $12 (a la cart, no rice or beans). I was only able to finish one of them as they were good size and full of chicken.

Love the owner. Doesn't sell liquor. Margaritas are made with wine.

One of my favorites in town because it’s always so relaxed in there, the staff is one of the most polite & attentive I’ve seen, the food is delicious & the cinnamon tea is perfect. Always recommend this place!

I love this restaurant but they have to do a better job posting they're hours on this site. It's frustrating checking this site. It says they're open then you'd drive some distance and find they're closed! 😞

The cheese crisp is killer!!! I love the Taco Salad. The tacos are great and I like the enchiladas. I love the chips and salsa. Service is always accurate. It's not fancy, but it has solid sonoran style Mexican food that isn't over fancy. It's an older establishment, no music playing or any particular atmosphere, but it's one of the only places left in Tucson where I will eat Mexican food

Bought the red chili con carne, beans, and rice to go. For the price, the serving is terrible compared to other mexican restaurants. If you're a grown man you may wanna skip this place. The food was not eaten just pushed to the side so you can get a good idea of the portions. The food actually was good, the tortilla is a good size but a sad portion size, and I dont really eat a lot. I dont know maybe eating in they serve you more. Ill skip this place next time. 2 stars just because it tasted good.

I always rate a mexican restaurant on the quality of their refried beans. The beans here (and by extension their bean dip, which has jalapenos in it) were unbelievably fantastic. I will definitely be eating here again. All the food we had was amazing.

Older authentic looking Mexican restaurant with several family members as staff. GREAT Mexican food for decent prices with take home size portions. We go here often and have never been disappointed. Try the margarita cheesecake!! It's so rich.

What mexican restaurant does not have tamales? Too much salt in the strawberry wine margarita. Those were comments from my party. The rest of the food was great.
