Outstanding food as always, great service and very attentive management. Had a dear friend in from San Diego for the Gem Show. It was at her request we go to a favorite place of hers from when she used to frequent Tucson more often many years ago. Kingfisher remains a favorite for good reason. Still delivering awesome oysters and great drinks and a solid seafood menu with something for everyone to enjoy. We had a wonderful time. Management made sure we were doing good after a little disturbance by a belligerent guest right behind us at the beginning. He was politely asked to leave, and all was well. We were offered dessert on the house. We will continue to patronize this wonderful place.

Had a wonderful dinner at Kingfisher. It was honestly better than expected. We ordered the Rockefeller oysters and the grilled oysters with the brown sugar sauce. Both were delicious, but we were pleasantly surprised with the brown sugar ones (pictured below) We'd never had oysters like these. But, does brown sugar ruin anything? We also ordered the mussels and clams which is actually quite filling as it comes in a delicious white wine, butter, garlic sauce with a large portion of bread. We also ordered the grilled blackened shrimp and scallops. Subbed the sautéed spinach for asparagus and added the side of polenta. It was all delicious. Originally, from looking at online pictures, thought the scallops came in a lemon butter mixture so I didn't think the meal would be filling, so I ordered the polenta. However the scallops are sitting on top of a bowl of beans, carrots, celery and bacon. This was actually quite tasty but I would prefer the polenta still. It was delicious! Service was top-notch!

Once again, our service was fabulous starting with the manager that greeted us and showed us to our perfect booth. My husband got the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, which I ate most of his asparagus because he doesn’t particularly like it and I thought it was delicious. I also had their winter soup with toasted pine nuts and pomegranate, and it was fabulous.
I WOULD RECOMMEND

Their beer and wine list is always on point. We tried a couple kinds of oysters, all were perfect. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. You dont have to dress up to come here, but you wont be out of place if you do. Our server was lovely, the support staff was very helpful, and even though it was quite busy everything came out in a timely manner. It can be a bit loud when full, so go for a later dinner if you want a quieter experience.

Great find in Tucson, fresh, well prepared seafood. Many restaurants overcook fish, here it is served right.

Great wine list and N/A drink selection. Deserts are amazing.

Price is sturdy, might be appropriate for the freshness delivered.

The people are attentive and the water glass is always full.

Art on the walls deliver a warm feeling.

Just had a fantastic meal and experience at Kingfisher. We called last minute for a reservation. They were pretty booked but got us in, and seated us right away when we arrived. The service was excellent. They were very busy, but the manager Eric was amazing in pitching in, kept coming around to ask if we needed anything. The food was fantastic. Their house salad was one of the best I've ever had. The cornbread was excellent. The entre was fantastic. I got the octopus which was very tasty and the sides were equally excellent. A truly fantastic meal and experience

Update: Jan 2026

My husband & I decided on lunch at Kingfisher. He hadn't been there for many years and I had visited once recently. They close the dining room at 2 pm normally, and we arrived right before 2 Pm and they let us sit in the dining room. There were a few other tables still occupied. I don't know the server's name, but he was great. Friendly, personable and checked on us appropriately.I had the Fish & chips, fish excellent, fries amazing but the cole slaw lacked a little. It needed more dressing as it was a bit dry. My husband ordered the hamburger. It came with cheese, roasted red peppers, poblano pepper, sautéed onions, lettuce & tomato, all included in the price of $21. A half pound of absolutely delicious meat, cooked to his specification. According to my hubby, the best burger in town. He took over half home to eat at dinner. He had the yummy fries and the lackluster cole slaw as well. Soft drinks were $5 and our entrees were $21. Total w/tax was $56 which was reasonable given the taste and our experience. I was so glad to see that they didn't charge extra for a credit card, as it should be. We were visited by a manager which was nice. We will definitely return.

Original review late 2025:

I joined a friend here. We were hoping for lobster rolls, but they didn't have them. We decided on the fish & chips. The fish was hoki and it was outstanding. Fries are fresh cut, slaw was delicious. Our server also worked the bar so I don't have a name. He was terrific, constantly checking on our drinks and food. Very nice clean dining room and restrooms. I haven't been here for at least 25 years.. It is still the same great place, delicious food and stellar service. We decided on the chocolate mousse cake and gelato. Both were yummy as well. I forgot photos except for the cake. Keep up the good work.

Attended a Tucson Foodie dinner event ..food was fantastic. Lots of flavorful creativity with an emphasis on local ingredients. The Salty Coyote was a nice alcohol free alternative beverage.

The bar area is a great spot to enjoy dinner as well.
