Food was nice and fresh, beef bulgogi was crazy delicious. It was busy but for what it is I can see why and the service was ssssuper good Andy helped us out with everything we needed and made us feel welcome for our first time, despite it being jam packed. Amazing service 10/10! if you got the time would stop by :)

A little place run by Korean women that is worth trying for its food! After ordering beer or wine, we ordered an appetizer, which came made from scratch. We ordered entrees, which comes with soup and sides. Miso soup, then 4 tiny sides consisting of kimchi, bean sprouts, squash, and radish.
Then came the amazing sizzling entrees.
A definite place to try!!

Food and service were excellent!
I love Korean food and I've eaten at many restaurants in other states as well as all of the Korean places here in Tucson. I really love Kogi for a number of reasons, one being that the two elderly Korean women who own it and do all the cooking are incredibly skilled in the kitchen; the food is absolutely delicious! You can't get more authentic than having two Ummas (Korean for mamas), well, they're old enough that they're probably Halmonis (grandmothers) right there at the stove! They cook everything to order from scratch so it takes a little bit of time to get your food, but not very long at all. It's not fast food, that's for sure! They have all the dishes you would come to expect and want to eat at a Korean restaurant. If you're not familiar with Korean food, you can ask the server, Sunny, to explain dishes for you and she will. She is the only server, and though it's a small place and she's busy (she zips between tables like the Energizer Bunny), she will explain any of the dishes to you. The place is very small, and always has lots of people there because it is so good, and, there are always Koreans there eating when I'm there... that's always a good sign of a good restaurant! The menu is quite large and has plenty to choose from. They make all of their banchan (small side dishes, that come with each meal, of things like kimchi and various pickled and marinated veggies and seafood, and in some parts of the country, potato salad is a very popular one) in-house. By the way, those banchan, are brought to your table before your meal, with a container of rice, and there's no rules about how you eat them, but they are usually eating with your entree, and there are free refills, but they will not tell you that you have to just ask. I could go on and on about Korean food and culture here, but you can use Google to learn some things too, haha! If you want to go eat some really good Korean food made by lovely Korean Grandma's right there in the room cooking with you behind a small partition, then Kogi is for you!
Vegetarian options: Koreans love meat and most dishes have it. There are some vegetarian dishes, but not a lot.
Parking: Small storefront in a strip of other businesses (Crossroads Festival Shopping Centre), but a large-lettered sign, so it's easy to spot.

It's conveniently located in the strip mall with plenty of parking.
This restaurant still has that old time mom and pop Asian family feel it's a definite classic type vibe with Auntie up front taking orders and the rest of the family in the back cooking and putting to go orders together. I always like to support a locally owned business.
It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. Having said that the service was fast and efficient .
It's also about being realistic about the food. This is not a mall based chain restaurant or a high end bistro somewhere. The food was well prepared hot and delicious. This is a Vietnamese restaurant. So there's lots of variety in the menu.
