The Prime burger was big and juicy: enough to share. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries.

We chose La Luz at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa for their Valentine’s Day prix fixe dinner, priced at $150 per person, with an additional $50 per person for the wine pairing. Unfortunately, the evening fell far short of expectations.
Valet service was quick and efficient, and we were seated promptly, which gave us hope for a smooth experience. However, after being seated, we waited about 15 minutes before our server came to greet us. After placing our order, it took another 15 minutes to receive our drinks.
This was marketed as a wine pairing dinner, yet the wine arrived well before any food. It was 45 minutes before we even received bread, and nearly an hour before the first course was served. By that point, the experience had already become frustrating. We noticed several other couples who had been seated ahead of us were also still waiting for their meals.
Given the $200-per-person total, we expected a well-coordinated and attentive dining experience, especially for a special occasion like Valentine’s Day. Instead, the service felt disorganized and poorly managed.
Before leaving, we spoke with the hotel manager and were told we would receive an email that evening offering a complimentary dinner due to the issues. We have not received any follow-up communication. On our way out, a few employees mentioned that similar problems occurred during last year’s Valentine’s event, which was disappointing to hear.
Overall, it was a very underwhelming and frustrating experience, and unfortunately not one we would recommend for a special occasion.

Atmosphere, lovely. Food and display, lovely. Service not so good. Our drinks came 3/4 of the way through the meal ( meanwhile 3 other tables that sat after were being served ducks and food from the Valentine’s Day event) . We were interrupted 4 times by other people asking if we ordered this or that. Toward the end they seemed to forget about us, we had to ask about the main course, the middle course and dessert ( where they were, or when they were coming) our sever may not have ever worked as a server before.. ultimately they came but all together, desert curse finally came 20 mins after we asked again. We almost just asked for it to go… I will not recommend this for the price they charge! At more than 100$ a person this was a bust.

Service lacked a sense of priority... we waited maybe 30-40 minutes before our drinks were brought, and 1 hour before the bread service (first meal) was brought.. which I had to ask for. There were other couples who were seated way after us, and they received their meals first. Our server was missing a lot. From beginning to end, we ended up spending 3 hours there because it took way too long to get our items.

We asked the valet about the parking signs -- they have instituted a $10 fee -- BUT our server could give us a code to park free for 90 minutes. Our server tried, a manager tried, we finally had to go back to the valet desk and ask not to be charged. My prosecco was obviously flat and tasted like syrup so he brought me another glass. Lunches tasted fine but one salad looked like it had been dropped. He did bring me a slice of birthday cake which was FABULOUS. The parking fee hassle ruined our taste for La Luz.

Would have clicked all 5 stars except for the tiny drinks at BIG pricing. One of the best meals we have experienced in Tucson in 3-1/2 years

Pulled up to valet at this “Luxury” resort on Christmas Day. Not particularly busy. My family goes inside. I need to walk up to the podium where a couple valet are hanging out. Guy at the door asks my wife “is that your car” w an aggressive tone. Finally start the process of getting the car parked. At the restaurant, another long wait to speak to hostess. Again, not very busy and seems like plenty of uninterested staff. They finally try to seat our party of four at a table set for three basically in the walkway/staircase. We tell them to seat us at a better table set for four, of which there were plenty. Service was fair, food was not memorable. The $17 whiskey, $6 glass of Pepsi, $15 parking and $50+ entrees should come with much better service

Impressive array of all things brunch but with turkey and the trimmings along came great seafood like Pacific oysters and salmon, shrimp, and scallops. Terrific prime rib and delicious pasta. Limited desserts but I'm not a fan Beautiful setting and decor

Dined for Thanksgiving; Exceptional food quality, taste, options and layout. Great service and beautiful views. 5 stars all around.

I was there for the thanksgiving buffet dinner. The food was okay. Nothing spectacular but enjoyable. The service was awful. The waitstaff was very nice and willing to oblige anything asked for, but we rarely saw them. I suspect that since it was thanksgiving day, many staff had the day off and they were very understaffed. Dirty dishes stayed at the table for a long time. We had to ask for water refills and were never offered an ice tea refill. For the price point of $120.00 per person, i would have anticipated better service. I am not critical of waitstaff. As i said, they were very kind. However, management should plan their staffing better if offering an expensive holiday dinner. The ambience was lovely. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the mountains.

The ambience was very nice. Weather was beautiful for patio dining. The food was a disappointment. Prime roast was tuff, mashed potatoes were unbearably salty, carrots undercooked, and the breakfast bar was cold. Cold pancakes, sausage, eggs, and syrup. This was one of the highest priced Thanksgiving brunch in the city. We will not return.

Over a month prior to Thanksgiving, we specifically requested a table next to a window. Instead, we were told they were not available and we were seated directly below the buffet food line, so as other guests stood and obtained their food, they were staring directly down on us, with zero privacy. There was more privacy at an airport terminal. To add insult to injury, across the aisle from us were THREE EMPTY tables near the windows, and throughout our entire meal, no one was seated at those tables. Towards the end of our meal, our waitress brought out a computer printout that clearly showed we were to be seated next to a window, and she was puzzled why we were not seated there. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE. Guess what... we will never, ever, return to the Westin La Paloma and we will certainly NEVER EVER eat at the La Luz restaurant. Horrible way to treat your guests!
