After waiting for months for a new Mexican food restaurant on the East side of town my wife and myself eagerly looked forward to a real treat. When arrived at 3 pm there was only 2 tables occupied and seated ourselves. We promptly ordered. My wife had a cheese enchilada, tostada, rice and beans. The rice was fluffy and good, the beans were runny but good, the cheese enchilada ok, the tostada tortilla was not crispy but soggy and tasteless. I ordered chili relleno, beef taco, rice and beans. The relleno was smothered in red enchilada sauce and was hard to find as it was as if the chili came from a can and then cooked to death. The taco was small, very crisp and filled with a small amount of shredded beef and topped with lettuce. This can’t be the restaurant that friends on the West side recommended? Sorry about the bad review but have lived in Tucson for 50 years and dined in dozens of Mexican restaurants our favorite is Mi Nedito. Won’t be back.

We were excited to try this restaurant based on the stellar reviews. We followed the GPS instructions and were pleasantly surprised to not have to get on the freeway. After 15 minutes of driving and another 10 of looking around we found a closed restaurant with a hand written sign saying that they would be closed for the foreseeable future. I don't think they will be opening any time soon. Moral of the story: If you're from out of town, call ahead. We ended up at Si Charro instead.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Tucson Mountain Park. It was very crowed at that time. We placed a to go order & it was ready in about 10 minutes. The food was very good and reasonable. Would definitely stop there again.

Nice local Mexican restaurant. This is a no frills place but the food is excellent and the prices remain quite reasonable. Friendly service also.

We were in town for a few days visiting relatives and I was craving some good Mexican food. Last visit we chose the fancy $$$ restaurant and it was just OK. This time I was willing to try something different. Los Nopales was just the different I was looking for. Not your typical looking place from the outside, but let me tell you what a surprise this place turned out to be. Walked in, seated immediately due to ONE open table. The place was packed and the To Go orders were flying out the door. We had chips and salsa within 1minute. We had drinks within 3minutes, and our amazing food within 10minutes! Our local relatives were impressed! We did good and will definitely return upon visiting next time!

Quick, friendly and tasty. Meat and fish was high quality and the place was full. The staff were helpful and the other guests were all eating well too.

Very good service and speak English very well. Food was great, but not a fan of an entire head of iceberg lettuce on my tostada.

Our large family gathering was able to sit together during an off time of day and the staff (who I am sure weren’t expecting such s large group) was delightful. The food was excellent and plentiful after a long day at the Desert Museum.

Greated and sat as soon as we walked in the door. Both salsas I thought had really good flavor. I really liked the thinkness of the mild salsa. The food came out super fast. My taco was hard shell and house made. I love that. I had shredded beef it had good flavor and was hot not cold. I got the cheese enchilada again hot and really good. My tostada was really good and a flat tostada not a fried bowl thing. Good prices even the beer was a good price. Both are meals we thought where very good. We have been looking for another Mexican restaurant since our favorite one went to drive thew only. So we will definitely be back. I can't find any reason not to and I excited to try something new next time.

Small Mexican restaurant. Out of the way. You wouldn't find it unless you went looking for it. Excellent food. Good variety. friendly staff. Definitely not fancy but worth a try.

The food was pretty good for an out of the way place. The shredded beef need seasoning because it was a little bland, but the service was very good. We will go back again.
