We drove from Northern California to visit Malta Joe’s here in Tucson Arizona. He did not disappoint. These pastizzi’s were so delicious. Joe was making some pastizzi’s while we were there. He was such a kind person. He also offered us a cup of coffee while we waited for the fried pastizzi’s. We have never had one deep fried before. They were sooooo good. Thanks again for your kind hospitality. We will see you Sunday at the farmers market.

We lucked out on this spot through the Too Good To Go app. We had no idea what we were getting but were not only surprised, but had some of the most flakiest, unique pastries. The pastizzis are something everyone should try and the dessert mintizzis are borderline addicting. Recommend this spot for everyone out there. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again Joe for waiting for us today because we would have missed out on this wonderful food.

I brought the ricotta pastizzi and almond cookies to my (Maltese) boyfriend and needless to say, we enjoyed every single one. Now I cannot arrive back in San Francisco without at least a few dozen to share.

Come for the passtizi, stay for the almond cookies. A genuinely warm reception from Joe, you would think we are all long lost Maltese family! Shared the almond cookies with the office and recieved rave reviews.

Joe made a custom carrot cake for my Moms 85th birthday. It was delicious! Best carrot cake ever was heard around the table. They were also able to arrange a last minute pickup on short notice. A few sweet and flaky pastizzi thrown in that topped off an incredible experience. Thanks Joe!

First time trying Malta Joe's pastizzi - Joe's homemade birria was melt in your mouth with the crispy, flaky crust. The traditional ricotta and the split pea/curry were also phenomenal. The sweet ricotta was delicious. I've had pastizzi in Malta and in my hometown of Detroit and honestly, these are the best.

While visiting Tucson, we stopped by the bakeshop today to get some pastizzi. We ordered a few different savoury and also tried mini sweet pastizzi. They were incredibly crisp, flaky and very, very tasty. The owner, Joe, was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back!

The pastizzi was as delicious and delectable as the owner claimed. We tried and loved all of the savory and sweet varieties and it would be hard to choose a favorite. They are all so unique and scrumptious! We took some of the Birria on a road trip and they were so tasty, fresh and filling. We will definitely be ordering a variety to be delivered so we can serve them at a house party! Highly recommend!

Food is delicious. They are very friendly as well, and it is easy enough to show up and order. Still probably best to order ahead and take your food to go though.

We drove down from the Phoenix area to pick up some pastizzi - and - WOW -so worth the trip! I have tried for years to make pastizzi with limited success. We just baked the pastizzi from Joe and it really is perfection! The layers of pastry are so flaky & crispy. Joe- thank you so much! We loved the sweet pastizzi too (the Nutella filling was amazing!) And the almond cookies were fantastic -
We will definitely be back!
