Best Mexican food in Tucson
The best cocido soup in town. Parking is tight, and the wait is long, but well worth the wait. you wont be disappointed in the food.
The Food is good and we enjoy our Margaritas all in all is Great
Crispy tacos are great. I like this place
The food is always amazing. We got the president's plate, so leftovers for the next day. The service is usually fair or poor when we come, but we come for the food.
Great food and fantastic service! I can see why this has been around for 70+ years! Will be back next time we’re in town.
awesome food and service!

Mediocre at best. Tortillas aren’t freshly made which would seem impossible in Tucson. Margaritas are from a mix instead of being made from scratch. Skip the cheese crisp. If you want an extraordinary cheese crisp go to El Charro. Service was good. Staff were nice but the food is meh.

Been going since I was little. My mom too. My Nana since it opened. Watching it grow & thrive has been a blessing. Grabbed a dumdum on my way out bc Jimmie wasn't there lol

I had the Combination Plate 5. Carne con Chile Verde. The meat was nice with decent spices and flavoring. The refried beans were definitely the star of the show. I also had one margarita with this meal, and it was nice though a tad sour, but that’s just how limes go!
Slight criticism, but I have noticed the chips and salsa situation in Arizona is way different from other southern states. The chips here (as most of AS) were a little stale, and the salsa was a little watery. Also, the service was nice when we got it, but the poor waitress was a at overworked for how busy and large her section was.

I wanted to eat here, but I didn't.
The parking in this place is horrible. The entire parking lot holds about 15-16 cars, and it's one way entry.
And the inside of the restaurant is very small. I counted like 13-16 tables. So the wait time, for only one, was 35 minutes. The outside of the building looks big, but the inside is too small.
It may be a Tucson staple, but the parking and inside size of the restaurant is dumb.

This place has recently gone down. The food wasn't as good and the waitress acted like it was the end of the world being asked to do anything besides bringing us our food and beverages. Only left her a $5 tip but shouldn't have left her anything at all. It's sad for being an historic place that I won't be eating there anymore when we visit Tucson.
