Okay so here we are again with another barbecue review. And I can refreshingly say with the utmost confidence. This is single-handedly the best barbecue all of Tucson there's a enormous difference in quality and ingredients it is on the messy side but holy hell that's bbq and THIS is DAMN GOOD BBQ. Do yourself a favor get their yams and beans the beans are smoky and light while being packed with flavor those yams are straight from the south and their brisket was coated in a HOMEMADE BBQ SAUCE. WHO IS DOING THAT?! MR K'S SURE IS!

If you're looking for good BBQ in Tucson, Mr. K's is a great option. Especially if, like me, you like mesquite. I live in Texas now and for the most part its oak, oak, oak which is also delicious but this was a welcomed change.
I didn't try everything they had to offer because their menu goes beyond just BBQ and I didn't even try all they had to offer BBQ wise here's what I got along side my honest opinion.
Brisket: Good smoke flavor, tender, fat was well rendered, there was a good bark. Delicious with or without sauce.
Hot Links: Great snap to the casings, meaty, juicy, mesquite smoke shows up well, not as hot as I'd like but very good.
Beef Ribs: Cooked well, good flavor and bark, tad lacking in juiciness but nothing their delicious sauce can't help you over look.
Sauce: thin, tangy, and sweet that gives the meat a nice kick without being too overbearing.
Coleslaw: it tastes like apple pie. I don't know how they do it but it's unique and delicious for sure.
Texas beans: spicy, smoky, almost chili like consistency. Very good.
Sweet potatoes: I could eat 5 lbs of just these little nuggets of deliciousness. VERY sweet .. like swimming in syrup sweet but the 1/4 sized cubes of tender sweet potatoes are just savory enough to make it not too sweet. This is a must try if you haven't.
Overall Mr. K's is a great place to itch the BBQ scratch for a more than fair price and I'm looking forward to trying what I missed...and more sweet potatoes .... on my next visit.
