I was recommended this place by the owners of my favorite hotdog spot. I was telling them I haven’t been able to find a Sonoran hotdog better than theirs and they said to go try Periquin Sonoran Hotdogs. I would say these are very good hotdogs and I will definitely be returning when in the area. Great taste and the bun is fantastic!

There's no need for any other items on their menu, this hot dog was incredible. This was my first Sonoran dog and I loved the toasted bun as well as all the toppings. We ate in the indoor dining room but ate our hotdogs so fast, we probably were only there for two minutes. I almost considered getting another hot dog, not gonna lie. Anyway, I highly recommend stopping by Ruiz's

This place is simple to the point. They serve one item and that's a Sonoran hotdog. A hotdog is a hotdog with a sweeter bread very soft and waste. It also has beans, mayonnaise, ketchup, and some other tomato toppings. There's some light seating. Other than that it's pretty straightforward and I would definitely come try it out. The only thing is that the hotdog could be a little bit bigger as it didn't fully fill out the bread.

These Sonoran hot dogs are the best in town. Nobody chars the bread like this truck. They only serve one food item so you know they do it well!

My family and I loved this place. One of the best hot dogs I've ever tasted and incredibly affordable. I fed all four members of my family for about $25. Make sure to bring cash (although you can use your card inside the restaurant if you forget).

I landed in Tuscon, and immediately made a beeline for Ruiz hot dogs. They're located on a dirt lot, and only sell one dish: the Sonoran hot dog. It's currently $4. Of course, if you want soda or another drink, they sell that too. It's cash only. To the side, there's a covered eating area with tables and most importantly, a cooler with shredded cheddar cheese, avocado sauce, and green salsa should you want to dress up your hot dog even more. Now to the actual dish itself. The bolillo hot dog bun is simply amazing. It's toasted on the outside so there's a crispy texture not unlike the outside of a grilled cheese sandwich bread. I would eat hot dogs more if they were treated in this manner. The bread on the inside is fluffy and holds up well to the rest of the ingredients and contains them so it's not messy. While the bread dwarfs the hot dog inside, the flavor is outsized. The bacon gives a nice smokey char taste and it is rendered well without any sad floppy unrendered areas. The toppings of pinto beans, onions (both diced grilled and raw), tomatoes, mayo, mustard and salsa were harmonious and worked well. I would come here again if I wanted something small and quick to eat.

Grilled on both side bun, beans, green chile, cheese, and a dog make for the best hot dog of my not short life. Unbelievably good. I wish I had a dozen.

The best Sonoran Hot Dog you'll ever have out of a food truck. Bring cash because they don't take cards.

The best sonoran hot dog you can find in Tucson, don't waste your time going to BK's or el guero canelo, this is the spot!!! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Came here for a Sonoran hot dog as I heard great things about the toasted buns here, and man was that toasted bun everything I hoped and dreamt for. I will say, I was a little surprised to find that my hot dog weenie was not bacon-wrapped though -- I thought the bacon-wrapped dog was part of what made a Sonoran dog a Sonoran dog. Either way, that toasted bolillo bun is well worth another visit soon. I'll be back for sure.
