Best coffee on the north side of Tucson! Nice indoor and outdoor environment to work or read a book with your coffee. Definitely worth a visit!

We stopped into Roadrunner during a staycation in Tucson. The drinks were definitely the highlight — the sugar-free snickerdoodle coffee with almond milk and the Paradise Island energy drink were both really good.
Unfortunately, the food and experience didn’t match the quality of the drinks. We ordered the jumbo everything bagel dog (which tasted overcooked) and a bacon breakfast burrito (which had a weird gritty texture) we couldn’t even finish it, but the wait time felt way too long for what we ordered. It was quite frustrating.
While waiting, we asked for a cup of water with a lid for our toddlers, but the barista kept directing us back to the shared water carafe instead of understanding our request. She came across as a bit rude in the process, which wasn’t great. On top of that, the floors were extremely sticky, making the space feel unclean.
Overall, we wouldn’t come back here to sit down or eat, but we might consider using the drive-thru again just for drinks on the go.

If you’re getting coffee or energy drinks I recommend but yesterday I paid $13 for a basic chicken salad sandwich and found an 10 inch brown hair in it. 🤢 Had to toss it. I won’t be ordering food there in the future.

I absolutely love Roadrunner. The jittery javelina is my go to drink, I usually swap for oat milk and add an extra shot because I don’t like my coffee as sweet. I also love their fusion drinks! They’re incredibly tasty, I even have my brothers who live out of state hooked on them and we always go whenever they’re in town.
The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. Whenever we bring our dogs through the drive thru, there’s one worker in particular who remembers them and takes their time to come outside and give them pup cups. If we mention roadrunner around the house, the dogs go crazy and get so excited that they’re going with us.
They have great food too! Burritos and bagels are excellent. We’re huge fans of roadrunner.

Caffeine might explain why those little roadrunners are so fast.
Needing to recharge after hiking at Catalina State Park, Emily and I dropped into Roadrunner Coffee to do just that. We got there around 9:30am and the place was busy. Their drive-thru was booming and while there was no line inside, over half the tables and seats were occupied. That gave me the good hope that this place has some great coffee.
Emily and I both got the Jittery Javelina, which is a blend of caramel sauce and vanilla syrup. I don’t typically get sweet coffee drinks but after so many Americanos, my taste buds needed the bitter break. We also got a chocolate croissant to go with it. We honestly stumbled through ordering, both Emily and I probably giving the barista a mild aneurism due to our tiredness and lacking caffeine. The barista took it all in stride and helped us get our order in.
We took a seat by the front windows and our drinks and baked treat were ready in about 5 minutes. The jittery javelina was really good. I didn’t notice too much of either the caramel or vanilla ingredients but that was okay because I downed my drink in just a few minutes. Emily and I split the croissant and we both felt it was good but not great with Em liking it more than me. I’m not the biggest fan of sweet baked treats (aside from cookies) and found the croissant to be average but will hit the spot if it sounds good to you.
They had a free little library in there and I couldn’t stop looking over the books while trying to have small talk with Emily. They also had some board games to play with friends and family.
Overall, I really liked Roadrunner Coffee Co. They do seem to cater to more of flavored or specialty drinks but they do have a normal menu if black coffee is more your vibe. There is also a small breakfast/lunch menu if you are feeling peckish and need something to go with your caffeinated drink.
