I’m from San Diego. I’ve eaten at Rubio’s since it first opened in 1983. I moved here 7 years ago and have eaten at this location several times. Tonight I went out of my way to grab some Rubio’s. I know the location here will never live up to what Rubio’s tastes like in San Diego, but my food was absolutely disgusting tonight. The fish was all batter, it was hard. The chips were super stale. The Langostino burrito was all rice and tomatoes, the little chunks of Langostino tasted bad and I was scared to eat them. Very disappointed and we won’t be eating Rubio’s again unless we are visiting home.

We bought the fish tacos with pinto beans and chips meal for $10.99 plus drinks extra charge. It was a HORRIBLE meal!!!Everything was microscopic small portions! I could eat the tacos in one bite with hardly ANY FISH ,mostly shredded cabbage! The pinto beans you could fit in a thimble and tiny bits of chips the size of my thumbnail! Plus a tablespoon of sour cream white sauce. This was the most PATHETIC excuse for a meal my wife and I had in all our 50 years of eating out in our marriage! We eat out quite a lot, all over Tucson and Rubios was honestly the WORST rip off for the money EVER! We will warn everyone don't throw your money away for a really lousy restaurant meal Taco BELL gives a FEAST of pretty good quality and portion size food - at fair prices by comparison!

This was my first time going to a Rubio's and I must say, for a fast food restaurant, they did an amazing job with their food. I got the wild caught grilled Mahi tacos. The fish was an ample portion size and it was perfectly seasoned and prepared. I had a side of black beans and street corn. Would highly recommend both. I definitely plan to go back again.
Food there was so so good. ? i would go there every day and try out everything if I could.

Yes, Rubio's is a chain restaurant. Yes, it's a spin on Mexican seafood. Yes, it's a type of place you have a weird craving for once in a while. And, YES, you can get better Mexican seafood food in Tucson. Especially real Mexican fish tacos just down the street ok 12th. But Rubio's isn't terrible. It has a long menu, and offers great sides and modifications to your meals. It is a bit pricey. The only reason I'm marking it as 3 stars is because this location always, always, makes my tacos super soggy
Ordered delivery for the first time, tried the combination tacos, one fish and one shrimp. Fantastic, the best I have had in Tucson, will be back to dine in.

Horrible service yesterday afternoon and lack of congruence with other Rubios. Two of us both ordered grilled fish tacos and there was one on the menu. Cashier ordered beer battered. It was 80% batter. So they argued with us and had to pay twice to get actual order, which was NOTHING like the grilled mahi tacos in San Diego. No choice of mango sauce was completely different. Pico de gallo was extra $. Yuck.

As we are always eager to try something new, our search for a seafood, Mexican grill, dine in semi fast food spot resulting in us stopping at this location near the El Con plaza. With other food venues and shopping stores well within walking distance, this Baja style eatery will not let you down. The lobster quesadilla was very good and will be my go to for our next trip there. Soups, burritos ? & Tacos ? ? (both chicken ? & beef) were delicious per the wife and kids. Ample seating, however, the lunch crowd here has got to be insane so forewarned. A lot to choose from on the menu. Natalie took our order and was rather knowledgeable about the options as well as suggestions, so kudos there. We will be back for sure 1 day.

I've been eating at Rubios in the Phoenix area for 15 years. I moved to Tucson in April, and this is the first time I've gotten to Rubios in Tucson (they only have one). I ordered the original fish taco plate and two extra fish and a lobster tacos. HEAR ME NOW!!! THESE WERE THE SOGGYIST FISH TACOS I'VE EVER EATEN. I COULDN'T EVEN FINISH 1!!!! DO BETTER RUBIOS!!!
