The food, as expected, was absolutely fabulous. What most impressed me, though, was the knowledge of Indian food that our waiter possessed, even though he was not from India. We asked about some plates that we were familiar with, and he was able to suggest other plates on the menu that were quite similar.

I think overall Saffron is a very nice place to eat; yet only 3 pieces of the Mahi Mahi in the marsala sauce puzzling when paying 16.95. I did have an issue with the first order & the marsala was suggested , yet the bhuna had about 8 pieces of the fish. Sadly we won't be returning; my husband was charged 4.50 for Naan bread we never ordered. Been coming here for 3 years, not anymore. We do appreciate the owner being concerned about my bhuna being too spicy for me yet just not worth it , sorry

Went for a late lunch/early dinner around 4 pm. Food was delicious and our waiter was great . Made sure we had everything we needed . Food came out fast and we even added on another side which the kitchen made right away.

Best Indian spot in Tucson I've found so far. I've tried many things and they have all been delicious. The only thing I'll say is the biryani is lacking bold flavors like I am used to but it's not bad. The service is great and the staff knows the menu well. The garlic naan is a must, onion bhajis, butter chicken and the Madras are also soooo tasty. Make sure you get the mint and tamarind plum sauce, so good to dip/top on dishes.I want to get in there for the lunch buffet sometime too, get to try a variety.

We were greeted and seated quickly. We ordered lunch off the menu. Our food was delivered steaming hot. Very good food. Sauces were spiced appropriately. Portions were generous. Will definitely return.

I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could. The lunch buffet is an incredible bargain. If I'm being honest, it's not the best Indian food we've ever had. But the selection and quality for the price was terrific. Highly recommended, we'll be back.

Saffron Indian Bistro offers a great buffet from 11am to 3pm everyday except Tuesdays when they are closed.Everything is delectable… the Chana Masala (chickpeas), Saag (creamy spinach), rice, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, butter chicken, curry chicken, the succulent fried fish nuggets, two or three different types of Naan. The flavors are rich and savory, but not too spicy. Plenty of dishes to satisfy any vegetarian appetites. No lamb dishes or Daal (lentils) on the serving line today, but with so much variety I didn’t mind. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. They have a full bar. There are two outdoor patios equipped with heaters and somewhat enclosed so you aren’t gazing at the large parking lot of the shopping center. The music was a 70s/80s adult pop/rock mix, which thankfully was attenuated to a mellow background — I recall hearing U2, Greg Kihn’s Jeopardy, some Journey tune among others.Servers and host polite and efficient. Reasonably priced. If you’ve never experienced Indian cuisine, the Saffron buffet would be a great place to start. If you love Indian food and don’t know Saffron, what are you waiting for?
