This was my first time trying Sushi Nara so I was not sure what to expect. It was very clean and the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. The employees were friendly and service was prompt. The food was fresh and delicious which is impressive since we arrived 40 minutes before closing. I will be going back!

Sushi here was good other times we ate here. A bit over priced. What dropped the rating is the service. We walked in and all the tables had people but the Sushi bar was empty. Wait staff said they were full, sushi bar was closed, and we couldn't wait for a table. Crazy, but true! We probably won't be back here.

Great service and although the sushi is good, it's pricey and portion sizes are tiny. The rolls are all stuffed full of cucumber with very little fish. The rolls come in 5-8 pieces, 2 pieces for nagiri. They range from $4.95-12.95. In order for my husband and myself to get full we had to order 8 rolls and miso soup. The tuna was of good quality and the server was nice. We spent $100 for 1 soup, 1 beer, and 8 rolls. I only took a picture of the first 5 rolls

Very disappointed in the service received at this restaurant tonight. My friend and I got ripped off by our server. I ordered the "cold sake" which is a specific item on the menu with a specific price. It is important to note that no brand is listed next to "cold sake" on the menu, just a price. So I assume it is whatever they have in stock at the time. Well the server brought me two bottles and asked which I wanted. Now when you order a specific menu item and are brought two options you would assume they just had two brands in stock and they are the same price right? Wrong. She brought me one that ended up being double the price of the one we ordered on the menu. We did not learn this until we got the check at which time she felt she could tell us that we actually ordered the super expensive sake. I said that's not what I said when I ordered and when you brought me the options. She just shrugged and offered so apologies or explanations. Extremely upset that I had to pay double what I was expecting with no idea. It is a huge shame because this is one of the few sushi restaurants on the east side and now I don't want to go back because that server very clearly knew she was up charging us without our knowledge. Horrible business practice.

Mom was visiting from out of state and doesn’t have sushi near her. Gave this place a try. These sushi rolls were a joke , there was almost no fish in them . Incredibly disappointing . Will not be coming back. I feel bad for her since it was the only sushi for her in years. These positive reviews led us astray. Wasn’t even cheaper considering how little was in the rolls , mostly rice.

The wait staff has all the personality of a wet paper bag. Dripped a piece of paper on the table not even an actual menu which we had to ask for. Tried to take our order before ever even offering drinks. And after we already paid we were just about to get up and leave they came out to our table and said they forgot to charge us for something and ask for $6 more because they charged me for the 12 pc instead of the 15 pc. It was all done in such an unprofessional manner. And the actual sashimi was subpar. I wouldn't go back.

Horrible service… literally didn’t check on us one time during our meal. Left our drinks empty and finally remembered we existed when we needed our bill. The food was good but the service made me not want to come back. It wasn’t even busy, there were 2 other tables. Also the male server snapped at another customer coming in to sit at a table he hadn’t cleaned yet. She had no way of knowing this and he snapped “That tables not ready!”.

Update. Called today 3/10 to give them another go, asled if i could place an order for pick up, the woman tells me yes what would you like. I give her my first item and before i even finished i was told "oh sorry the kitchen is already closed" its 1 hour and 45 mins before closing time and they have shut the kitchen down and are only doing sushi. Maybe start with that as I'm telling you I want to order food.!Called today 3/4 to place an order for pick up. The phone was answered by a woman who asked with "how can I help you" it was rude but definitely not the normal answer for a business I was expecting. I asked if I could place an order for pick up, she said yes but can you hang up and call back in at least 5 mins.... I responded with wait call back in 5 mins? She responded with yeah we are to busy to take your order right now! I just answered with okay good by. Again was not what I was expecting from a business. I understand being busy but taking an order via phone doesn't take but a minute or 2. I feel like of I would have walk in the doors to eat I would have been told I can't talk to you right now please leave and come back in 5 mins, vers taking my name and telling me how long the wait might be as that is almost as much time as it would have been for her to have taken my order. Or at least just asked me to hold really quick so she could finish what she was actively doing to then be able to spend the minute or 2 on the phone.

I ate here for the first time yesterday and loved it! Super delicious Passion and Las Vegas rolls as well as yellowtail nigiri. I was very impressed with the quality of the fish. Delicious and great service as well. I'm actually thinking about going back again today... Lol! Highly recommend!

The sushi rolls we ordered were okay and the chicken teriyaki entree we ordered took almost an hour to come out. When the chicken teriyaki did come out, it wasn’t what we ordered. So then we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the correct order. There were only two servers, now granted it was a full restaurant at dinner time, but they could’ve had another person working. The male server had one airpod in so I contribute that to the mess up on our order. This was most likely our last time going to this restaurant.

I love this restaurant always great ,never disappointed, love the taste of the rice just as much as the fish. The Nigiri sushi hand pressed wasabi goodness between the fish and rice so good ☺️ can’t wait to get paid so I can go back and have more

I love to try new sushi places I've never been. I was not impressed with Sushi Nara. The menu is very limited and the cuts of fish are not worth the price you pay. Moreover, this is an unappealing place to dine. Quiet as a library and echoes, so no privacy at all, a little radio gives zero ambiance, the customer service was subpar, she was not smiling, and the lighting was like your eating in a garage. This will be my only time going to this sushi restaurant.

the sushi and service was great.the price was a bit high, but that could just be the times and I'm still remembering precovid prices. it's not outrageous by any means just enough to comment on. over all, superb.
