Let's get this straight. I've been a fan of El Nene before they moved into the Rusty Nail building.
For me it loses just a little when the dogs are not from a truck/trailer but somehow at El Nene it was just so very minimal. They dogs are still great! The outside grill for the Asada y Papas to me is a good compromise. Just beware of the price changes- especially the sodas. Otherwise, it's still one of my favorite Sonoran Dog locations in Tucson.

One of the best Sonoran hotdogs in all the US. Carne asada is also some of the best.

I specifically came here for the sonoran hot dog and it did not dissappoint. I got some tacos too and they were delicious. The staff were all happy and were eager to help a gringo out.

Aqui Con El Nene serves mouthwatering food. Over the last couple of months, El Nene has been raising their prices significantly. I showed up the other day and realized their prices for a lot of items increased $2 (even given current rates of inflation, this is unjustifiable) . Moreover, the charge on my debit card was significantly higher than what I remember the total being. When you check out, a 15%-20% tip is already selected and you have to unselect to change the tip amount (it is not immediately clear that this is the case, rather deceiving.) Not sure if the price increases will optimize demand or profit; these increases may not be the best choice economically speaking.

This place is solid. My only complaint would be that it can be a little bit of a pain getting in and out of the property.

We enjoyed a snack of burros and quesadillas with generous roasted green chile. The corn and flour tortillas were supreme!

This used to be the best tasting food and best place to eat in town.Yeah, it still has the best tasting food, but it's now filled with rich 80-year-olds driving escalades alpnd really really hurting the culture and liveliness of the entire place. Is there anything old rich people won't steal from working people? You're gonna take our lunches now too?

Food is always fantastic but to pay $5 for a little tiny quesadilla was a disappointment.
