We usually love coming here. Today was my birthday and my wife wanted to share a nice night of jazz with me. She purchased tickets several hours before the show. We showed up about about 5 min late due to dinner being delayed. We didn't think it was a big deal since we had tickets. We came in and our names where not on the list. The host went to seat us and didn't see a good option he grabbed who I'm assuming was the manager. I have seen him on other nights talking and announcing and while he seems quirky and funny something was always a little odd. But hey people are people so never thought much of it. When he did seat us we asked for one table where we could sit side by side and he said no that they where for four people weird sense the table only had 2 chairs. They wedged us in the corner next to a party of 4 that didn't look real happy. It was super hot in the place and rather than sitting next to my wife I was across from her. When we asked to sit at the other table he was rude and dismissive. When we got up to walk out he looked shocked and went to ask us why. He followed us out of front door and got up in my face was very confrontational. I told him why we where leaving and he again was short rude and honestly didn't even try to be sympathetic, or find out why I was upset. When I expressed why he made up the same bs line of it being reserved for a four top when we watched him let a different couple sit alone at one of those tables. Very disappointed thanks for ruining my birthday. Hope it makes you feel better to have to be right for no reason and leave an empty table for four imaginary people that didn't exist. Reading the other negative reviews and his response's are just not good. His rudeness and weirdness comes out in his responses. This place is a great example of a place that could be great but is only good to average because of the owner. If you don't understand how to treat people even difficult people you shouldn't run a bar. Yes I realize I was difficult and possibly wrong, but in the moment I sure felt right and him getting in my face like he did my wife thought for sure I was going to knock him out. Following someone out of a bar and getting in there face I would have legally been justified to of defended myself from what I perceived as a threat. He is lucky I have a lot of self control. A lot of people would have not held back. He needs to do better.

Wonderful drinks, great atmosphere. I was surprised how it could feel like a dark midnight jazz club in the middle of a hot summer day. I was transported for three hours into a different vibe and the music was wonderful

We saw a fantastic show by Naim Amor and his trio. Naim does a blend of Paris and Tucson, tonite was just French standards, masterfully covered. The audience loved it. Naim's encore was cut off by an MC that insisted his anecdote about a family trip to France more important then an encore, just maddening. I understand why The Century Room becoming an important jazz venue. Tucson has always had amazing live music. To add high level jazz to the mix in the iconic Hotel Congress a masterstroke.

I've been wanting to hit this place for a while . So happy to finally check it off the must go list . Really enjoyed the show and the whole experience was the best way to end a great night in downtown .

Very cool, intimate, small club right in downtown Tucson.. It was my first time there, celebrating the release of Sarah Tolar's record "Something Sarah." Her performance was great, the atmosphere was great and the service and food and drinks was spot on. If you get a chance to see a show at that intimate setting, you should check it out.

If you like jazz, or love jazz, and appreciate the smooth feel of eras gone by this is your place. And Paul makes it the best place in Tucson. Paul makes everyone feel like an old friend and makes everything run smoothly. If o owned a business in Tucson I would pursue Paul until he was the face of my business.

So, my lovely date and I popped in here on a Thursday night downtown stroll. We knew there was a show that night (Andaluz), but we also wanted some time to talk. So we needed to check the room out (neither of us had been before).

Beautiful room and bar. The small stage is to the right as you enter (east). The bar runs along the north side of the room. We were warmly greeted at the door by the staff.

We elected to sit at the bar, where we could watch and hear the music without having to buy tickets for the show. They have an eclectic assortment of cocktails that are in the $14 range. Both of ours were very good.

We elected to move on to Bata. While the Century Room was beautiful, warm, and inviting, they were recording the live show that night so kind of discouraged talking. We will definitely be back tho. They have a lot of exciting shows on their calendar, and it's a small, intimate venue!

Parking: So, it gets busy downtown at night. You might be better knowing the location of the various garages just in case.

Kid-friendliness: Well, this venue is most adult oriented.

This has been the highlight of my Tucson experience (1 year+) bar none. To have a jazz club 6+ nights per week, and a broad variety of jazz in a setting like this is incomparable to most cities. Tucson has a real gem in the Century Room, and it will be the reason I visit Tucson again. Good craft cocktails, professional staff, great music, and of course the one and only MC and host Paul... it's hard to beat.

One of the greatest jazz clubs in the Western U.S. attracting world-class talents such as Aaron Goldberg, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Kassa Overall. Many jam sessions with local musicians are also fun. You will not be disappointed by the music or the quality cocktails. A great date spot or a good place to come alone to enjoy music or play if you are a musician. Major ups to manager Arthur Vint who has established this incredibly important venue for Tucson and for putting Tucson on the international tour stop! Bravo!
