I'm not sure if it's finally gone for good, but Funky Monk is/was the only real nightclub in Tucson that didn't feel like it was trying too hard. I could show up on a Saturday night and be far from the only millennial in the building. That's so, so tough to find in Tucson, since everything is made for college kiddos or tired boomers. Coming here to dance is always a fun time. And I like brunch even more! No matter what time I go, I'm getting some of their boozy slushies, especially the one with red bull. This has been an underrated Tucson establishment!

Came here with a couple of friends and left at the end of the night with even more friends! This place has a great atmosphere, the right vibes were vibing through the air.Every Wednesday night a wonderful lady, Molly, runs karaoke here. She has a beautiful voice herself and is singing karaoke alongside bar patrons. She has multiple mics so that you and like 5 of your friends can sing together. I also saw her accommodate for this one male who wanted to freestyle instead of singing a song.Bartenders were pretty awesome, as was security, and even got involved with the ongoings establishment a few times too.

What a strange place. I brought two of my friends, we came in for a few drinks. The wheel was great and after 3 spins, we were having fun. Out of left field, some lady was on about some stolen valor nonsense and tried to pick a fight. We tried desperately to de-escalate, but their security arrived and escalated everything ridiculously. After what seemed like a language barrier miscommunication, we left on our own accord, never to return. This place is an asylum and its as doomed as it always was. Stay away.

I was denied entry into this bar for "athletic wear." I was wearing an Under Armour collared shirt, shorts, and running shoes - not sloppy, all of very nice quality. I know I'm not as cool as Gronk or the guy wearing Nike sweats behind him and certainly my calves aren't as buff as that guy's but I was dressed appropriately for an early afternoon in downtown Tucson. They said, "Men aren't allowed in with athletic wear." Okay, well I'm a woman wearing "athletic wear" and I can see 10 other women in there wearing leggings so I think I'm good. Their website doesn't present a dress code and evidently they discriminate on men/women not wearing a** huggin' athletic wear - because yes, leggings are athletic wear. Very unprofessional staff. Manager was rude, "security" acted like thugs - yet I hear about shootings and fights often - the facade must wear off fast when things get real. Wasn't allowed in and will never be back - takin' my athletic wearing a** to better bars & restaurants in downtown Tucson!

I've always wanted to check this place out. It has a spacious outdoor patio facing the main street and is in a great location. It's always crowded when I walk or drive by, but last night, a Thursday night around 9pm, there were few customers inside. I took my chance!I walked in with my dog and sat at the bar. I was immediately aware of all the TVs along the wall, and the bright art work. I was waited on right away with fast and friendly service.I only ordered one beer. The place has weekday Happy Hour 4-7pm but I paid a regular price of $6 for my pint. I wasn't hungry. I gave my dog some water and she made a mess. Another employee immediately came over to wipe up the mess. I want to come back this summer on a hot night and really enjoy the patio. It's a great place to sit back and watch people. I will also try the menu.

If you come on the weekends at night, this place is a complete safety hazard. They fill this place beyond maximum occupancy and it's impossible to walk through the crowd for a drink or to go the bathroom. I have anxiety every time I come here. The floor is so sticky, my shoes get stuck trying to walk and the floor gets so wet from spilled drinks people are slipping. Also, the line to get in is ridiculously long because the bouncers only let the "VIP" line go inside. If you happen to go during the week, this is a much nicer place. You can actually get extraordinary service, have a seat and enjoy a conversation, and not feel like your life is in danger.

Octavio showed me Presidential and Extravagant Hospitality. He made me feel like I am apart of the team. He provided peace and super customer service. He totally should be an Owner of the club or part ownership. We need more people like this guy in this world. I appreciate and my people Bone Thugs N Harmony appreciate it also. Music Money Motivation Salute?
