Business hours are a bit spotty here but the food is great. This is a family-run restaurant and it's nice to see everyone helping out when you stop by. The j*** chicken and oxtail are delicious and the sides don't disappoint.

I have eaten here for a week straight and do not see myself stopping anytime soon. EVERY. SINGLE. THING. is amazing! 10/10 will eat here until I die.

The food here is amazing, the owner is super friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my meals each time I visit. Food is fresh, flavorful remind me of back home in the Caribbean. I will keep coming lol

Friendly service, food definitely worthy of a regular lunch or dinner to go stop. Great addition to the neighborhood.

The mango pineapple j*** chicken has a little kick and super tasty. The curry goat is flavorful and not spicy at all. Both meals came with rice and peas and salad. The ladies are friendly in this little take out place.

Phone number says it's temporarily disconnected. Had to get out of my car and go in just to be told they were out of oxtails.

This is my new go-to for office lunches during Covid. Not only can I walk over and pick it up, but it's absolutely fabulous food. It's in a small building on the South side of Pima, west of Craycroft - don't blink, you'll miss it. Today I had the Brown Stew Chicken (see picture) and it was awesome. Comes with rice, steamed cabbage, bread & fried plantains. I've had the curry chicken there too - equally as awesome. They have tables outside as well if you want to eat there - great for takeout. High marks for this place next time you're looking for great Jamaican.

Me and some friends were looking for a food adventure for lunch and found this AMAZING Jamaican hole-in-the-wall! The food was incredible. The chicken was marinated and flavor was awesome. The sweet plantains were puffy, toasted on the outside and soft throughout. Delicious!! Their 'festival' greens with lettuce, peas, cabbage and carrots was steamed perfectly. They offer unique and traditional Jamaican dishes every day so I will definitely be back to try them all!!

This new Jamaican restaurant just opened in a long-vacated hot-dog place. It's so nice to see a new business in this sad stretch of Pima. Even more hopeful to see a black-owned, small business trying to make a go of it in the middle of the recession. I went there today for lunch and it exceeded my expectations. I had the mango, pineapple j*** chicken with sides of rice and peas and steamed cabbages. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about Jamaican food and expected something a bit stodgy with meat and starch. This was different. It was very flavorful and not oily or heavy despite having both meat and starch. It wasn't just the chicken which was excellent, beautifully browned and not too spicy. Both of the sides were more attractive and tasty than they sounded. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The Shack is take-out only for now. They have a yard around the back, but it doesn't look like they have any shade or tables just yet.
