Sad update: they are closing 5/31/19 A year and a half ago we moved here to Tucson and searched for a Chinese restaurant. Even though Lotus Garden had mixed reviews we decided to it a try. DH is very particular about his egg fu yong but said this was the best and he loved it. I am very fond of lemon chicken and their's is my favorite! Their crab puffs (aka crab Rangoon) are the best we've ever found. We never seem to get anything different, because these are so good. We try to go there about once a month for lunch. So, it was with great sadness that while we were there today for lunch, we discovered they are closing at the end of this month! We are quite distressed :-( about losing one of our favorite restaurants and having to find a new place for Chinese food.

So sad to hear this place is closing at the end of the month. Such delicious food, impeccable service, and cool atmosphere, how can this be?

Knowing that Lotus Garden is closing next week, I was hoping to try their cuisine. I had a reservation for 6:30. We were seated right away. Our server made an appearance after 20 minutes. We placed our order at that time, then waited 45 minutes for our drinks. We had to ask if we could at least get our soups. Those came 15 minutes later. Waited another 30 minutes for food that never arrived. We left. Sad that I could not try this restaurant before they closed.

Food was good except for egg flower soup. Service was spread thin with only one server for the crowded lunch. The owner of this place is retiring and closing the business at the end of May after being open for about 50 years.

I have been a loyal, longtime, always happy, customer since I was in college! Unfortunately, tonight was a HUGE, awful disappointment!!! Did not realize there were announcements made today about the restaurant closing at the end of the month.

I will miss this restaurant when it closes for good on May 31. The food, service and friendly atmosphere has always been excellent. Lotus Garden will be missed by Tucson residents after being here 50 years.

Every visit to Lotus Garden is a good one, whether it's dining in, takeout or delivery. Their hot and sour soup alone is worth it! We enjoy the little gift shop while waiting, and the staff is so friendly it's like being an invited guest. There aren't a lot of places in Tucson that have great food AND great service, this is one of them.

Absolute best Chinese restaurant in Tucson! Always clean, excellent customer service and the best little gift shop inside the restaurant, selling high quality teas and tea pots and other really cool gifts and things.

After many years of bad, really bad, Chinese food in Tucson somehow I stumbled upon Lotus Garden. Living up here "above River" and having tried the "Chinese" restaurants in the Foothills, serving the most bland spiceless sorry Chinese food I have ever had I think I have found my new go to for excellent Chinese food. I ordered Mongolian Beef, Moo Shu Pork, House Fried Rice, Chicken Potstickers. All were excellent, large portions, perfectly cooked, and very nicely packaged for delivery/take out. The Mongolian Beef had the right amount of beef, no skimping here, cooked well, no gristle or stringy left over mystery beef. Very tasty. The Moo Shu Pork was also great with the right amount of cabbage and pork, very nice rice pancakes and moo shu bean sauce as well. The potstickers were steamed/fried and the potsicker sauce was the best I have had in a long time. I've just got to hope whoever was cooking tonight is the regular chef and it will be as good next time, which will be very soon!

The worst Chinese food I have ever had...orange chicken, a large blob of crusty batter with a tiny piece of hard chicken inside covered with super sweet sauce...egg rolls that had surely been fried hours before, fried rice with very little flavor and hard dry chunks of what was supposed to be pork...actually not the worst Chinese food-the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant

I have Celiac disease and several other food allergies. The staff was very knowledgeable and easily accommodated my needs. The food and service were excellent. I highly recommend The Lotus Garden and will definitely return when I am in Tucson again.

This place came highly recommended. As a native never been. It was very clean, lunch special is awesome and I have to day my server Rick was one of the best ! He was polite, kind, knowledgeable of food and drink menu and truly shows he loves what he does !💕 I'll be back

This is sub par Chinese food, my food was shiny like they glazed it w MSG. Will not go back. Chef must not love his job.

This review is a little late. Due to changes in our plans at Christmas, my daughter and I decided to do something very untraditional for us, but apparently very traditional for many.....have Chinese food for Christmas dinner. We had a few other friends in the same situation so we ended up with 8 of us having a very nice meal at the Lotus Garden. First of all, in spite of the restaurant being totally full, our service was extraordinary. Our waitress, whose name I have forgotten (sorry about that) was friendly, efficient and extremely attentive. She remembered all of our orders and handled our separate checks with a smile. Our group ordered a range of dishes and everything was beautifully presented. The vegetables were fresh, crisp and colorful. My signature dish is hot and sour soup and it completely passed the test. Again, it tasted very fresh with a nice tangy flavor. I ordered a sizzling ribeye and tomato dish which was wonderful ..steak was very tender and the tomatoes and red peppers were bright red and crisp. I can't review all of the dishes but we were all very happy. Our only overall critique was that the food could have had a little more spice (which accounts for the 4 stars instead of 5) But, considering that it was probably the busiest day of the year for them, I thought they did a spectacular job. I will certainly return,
