I'm giving The Monica 2 stars bc even tho the food was O-K, I'm very annoyed and frustrated with the management of this restaurant. The day that my partner and I came here, she did not like the meal she had. We both work in the service industry so we rarely ever complain about food at other restaurants. Unfortunately my partner did not like her meal so I very very nicely asked if we could please just be issued a refund. Although the manager reassured me that I would get my refund, I still never got my refund to this day and I'm talking about the beginning of February is when we dined here. I've called and left a message for the managers and haven't heard anything back. I will not be coming back to the Monica bc of this reason and bc we didn't find the food that great. I have celiac disease and was impressed that they had GF options, including the chicken tenders, which I ordered for myself. They were nothing great. Ive bought frozen chicken nuggets and tenders from the store that are better.

I’ve eaten here several times without issues but last night I had chicken Caesar salad, the chicken was so dry, saw dust comes to mind. If I wasn’t so hungry and in a hurry to get to our event I would’ve complained then. I asked for dressing on the side, it was already in there but whom ever brought it out did take it back and re do it, this was before I tried the chicken. My husband had a pizza that was very good.

We used to really like the Monica and recommended it to many people. Something changed and we are disappointed. On most recent visit, I ordered birria beef stew and my wife a green salad with salmon. For $16 I got a small bowl of soup. It tasted like onions cooked too hot and burned. The beef was mushy like it spent all day on high in a slow cooker. It would have been passable as a cheap side in a cafeteria. My wife's salad was lettuce with a 4oz piece of cold fish. They forgot the dressing. Again, it was a simple side salad at an entree price. Kudos to the person delivering the food for leaving if croutons when asked for no dairy. There used to be good atmosphere with comfortable chairs and fire pit tables. Now there are cold metal picnic tables. I guess you can squeeze more people.

I've been here numerous times and can't understand why anyone would rate less than 5 stars. Their happy hour menu is fantastic, the service is friendly and the ambiance is contemporary and sexy. Hopefully this place remains a staple of the downtown vibe

Let me just say, me and my girlies were too early to a hockey game so we walked along downtown and found this AMAZING PLACE. the food was so gas I couldn’t finish it. I think I had the “Tucson Meltdown” and at first the price had me raising a brow BUT IT WAS OVERALL WORTH IT. The staff was so nice, the atmosphere was pretty especially at night and the bathroom looked like I walked in the royal palace. 10/10 would recommend???

The girl taking the orders was incredibly rude!!!

Beautiful space! Indoor/outdoor dining. Casual, classy eatery. Meaty pizza was fresh and tastey. Ceasar side salad was rather ordinary. Fresh brewed iced tea would be a nice option added to the soft drinks and fancy lemonade.B+

Update: downgrading down to a 1. We came for dinner and were told to order on the kiosk and he person walked away. No beer or wine on here so had to go to the bar to order those. No way to pay with 2 gift cards so had to partially pay with a credit card. No way to scan rewards QR code. Was provided a receipt and told to redeem online but no where to do that in the account. I could only imagine how frustrating this would be for someone that wasn't as familiar with their menu to try and find everything. And why put cocktails and sparkling wine on the kiosk but not beer and wine? It has become an absolute chore to eat hereI've eaten here since it has opened, and they seem to be incapable of keeping anything consistent.Almost every time I have a new dish it's really good but when I order it again it's about 50% of what it was before.Their burgers used to be really good but the last one I had took 30 minutes to come out with only 3-4 dishes coming out between when I ordered and delivery. The party was very dry, the focaccia was almost not focaccia (their bread has really gone downhill ever since they terminated their partnership with Barrio Bread), and once again the fries had changed and once again for the worst.I don't understand how a burger that almost costs the same at Charro Steak can be so superior when they have the same owners.I really wish they would get their s* together because it's a really nice location, and they used to serve very enjoyable food

Beautiful spot but the rest leaves much to be desired. They stopped their partnership with Barrio Bread. Went last week for brunch on a Friday. Waited in line for 20 minutes just to order, and then waited an hour for my 1 pizza which was missing some ingredients. All folks who were in line behind me got their food before I did. Had to wait for 20 minutes in line AGAIN at the slowest checkout line(always so slow, need more registers) to let them know about the missing toppings. They brought out the missing ingredients but by that time my food was cold. This is the second time I have had an experience like this here and won't be returning. They need to hire waitstaff not just bartenders and 1 person at the checkout counter. It's simply not enough support for such a big space.

Someone opened the door as I stepped into the restaurant. Very nice. I sat at a table. Noticed it had not been cleaned. I waited for someone to come greet me. 7 minutes. Servers or I asummed a hostess walked past me. Waited. Nothing happened even after they knew i was a new customer and they had made eye contact with me. Hostess was super busy on her cellphone. I walked out.

Placing your order is easy but getting your food to your table is a bit challenging. The margaritas were delicious. The happy hour sharables are well prepared and tasty. The price, even during happy hour, is a bit high.Atmosphere is great, not loud, it was a Tuesday.
