Customer service is absolutely down in the gutter— drinks are bomb though, so…
It's a bit new age and fufu feeling but they do have some good combinations and they have a refill policy where you pay $1 for first refill and a free second refill. Overall a good place for some Jasmine tea.
Overall a nice place with relaxing atmosphere and good tea. I deducted two stars for the following reasons. First almost every tea is a fruit infused tea. There are only a handful of teas available that are not fruit infused. Would love to see a few more options for non fruit infused tea. Perhaps a nice Sencha or some Mogan Huangya? The second star is for the inconsistency in their hours. Previously this location did not open till 10am, while all of the other downtown coffee places open at 7am. This location started opening at 6:30 awhile back which was great, however, now I don't know when they open. Google still says they open at 6:30 but the door is locked and the lights are out even at 8am.
for some reason was denied a water cup even though my party purchased two drinks because “the line was too long” there were 2 parties in line behind mine.
I’ve been to Scented Leaf before (different location) and had decent experiences, but today the barista was immediately cold and seemed annoyed we were taking some time to decide our order despite there being no one else in line. I asked if my drink could be made slightly less hot and he rolled his eyes and said he guessed he could use cold milk. When I got my drink, it was BEYOND hot, absolutely scorching. It also was watery and flavorless. I’m not one to waste food or drink but I ended up tossing it in the trash. I don’t know if the barista was having a bad day or if he didn’t like something about me, but to me it felt intentional. I left feeling very unwelcome and slightly shaken.
My coworkers recommended I visit this teahouse to experience some delicious options. I took them up on it, and did not realize I was going to find my go to for a cool or warm beverage on any given day.
Let's start with the atmosphere: cozy and covered with beautiful live plants. Need to get some work down? No problem. Read a book with some tea? Definitely!
Next, the beverages. I have personally sample over 15 of the tea offerings, including the mixed drinks, and they're all incredible! The multiple sweetness options are wonderful as well as the other lovely options such as multiple milk choices (including vegan options) and lemon. Try the Fruit Gusher, with any of the fruit teas, medium sweet with Honey.
But let's talk about the real reason to love Scented Leaf: the staff. Carla, Katelyn, Jesse, and Omar are incredible! They are kind, caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I usually don't feel like bonding with people at places I visit, but the Scented Leaf Tearistas are the best!

Response to Owner: I have increased my rating in consideration for all of my positive experiences here, the product, and service. But im disappointed with the muted response to the environmental and energy concern. Also, neither your adjacent/connected neighboring businesses nor many of the other food/beverage locations in downtown feel the need to do the same for the express purpose of attracting new customers.
Original Review: Im normally a huge fan of the Scented Leaf. But i think its irresponsible for multiple reasons, for places that have AC to leave their door open. Besides the environmental and energy concern, I came here hoping to relax but there were flies, and one very noticeable mosquito that bit me in the arm which went numb. Every time ive gone to the University or Tanque Verde location they had their doors closed so this feels like a strange choice here.

Absolutely love the scented leaf location on tanque verde the service is always friendly and quick while the location is truly Stunning. I’m happy to hear they will be expanding to create more room for us eager tea goers! It’s usually pretty busy here but the turn around time for tea is quick no matter how busy! I just keep coming back.
The tea selection at this place is incredible. I do wish they posted more information on the testing behind their teas (lead, pesticides, etc) but NBD to drink a couple times. The options are really delicious and I love that all the teas can be iced. Fun hangout vibes in here if you want to read a book and drink tea!
