They do not serve food here, hence the non rating. Their bartenders are simply the best in town. A big fan of Sher as she is definitely our favorite person at this establishment. The atmosphere is unique and timeless.

Well I was walking my dog one night by the place and asked someone out front smoking for a cigarette they gave me one offered a light and a drink. Then I went in not knowing if my dog was okay to be there then the bartender asked if my dog could have a puppy cup which is whip cream in a plastic cup. D.O.Ge went to town on that cup and have to admit the place is nice and comfortable. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Nothing but praises for this place!! The drinks are amazing, incredibly priced, and generous with their alcohol. The decor and the general vibes are excellent, too :). Great place with great people!

There’s a lot to say about this place. Great staff, Fantastic bar, and eclectic vibe. I’ve been coming here for a little over a decade, and can say hands down the Shelter is one of Tucsons best gems. The staff is knowledge, professional, tentative, and polite. Crystal, who works primarily weekdays (Monday-Wednesday), and Eric (Thursday-Saturday) offer a welcoming and fun atmosphere, and are unbelievably talented at their craft. If you’re in the area, and dig unique and unconventional dive-esq establishments, this is the place to visit. Tip well, and enjoy the genuine Tucson experience.

I absolutely love this local Tucson place. There are several bartenders that I love and go to see specifically. Especially Crystal and Eric.

They are absolutely awesome!

Everytime I go crystal either takes 30 mins- 1 hr to serve me and consistently over charges me. Ive been on multiple occasions with other bartenders with the same amount of drinks!! And she over charges!!! Also will just be talking to any man for 20-40 mins faster she looks me in the eye when I walk in then serves me after she spends 30 mins talking to him. Literally don’t know how she has a job here because she is the only bartender that i consistently have this experience with here and I just have stopped coming in when she works

Pretty chill place. 1$ fee to close out tab. The decorations are pretty cool. Love the sofa seats.

The bartender made my vodka cran pretty good, so this is an alright place. Definitely for an older-than-college-kid crowd (30+).

Our bartender Cher was fun, fast, engaging, and full of great local knowledge. Been to all sorts of fancy places and her filthy martini was the best of the lot. Having a kitchen would make this place perfect, but nonetheless it's a Tucson gem that helps make our little city the southwest center of weird.

The Shelter is a great place for a 1st date or a 100th. Bring your partner or a group of friends and enjoy the friendly vibes, 60s retro decor, and amazing assortment of house infused vodka drinks. It's a hidden gem in Tucson and one of my favorite places to enjoy a chill night out with others.
