Small, quaint bar. It felt quite homey. Pool table up on an elevated platform/"stage". A few booths near the U-shaped bar. Drink specials were fantastic, and they tasted good, too! I look forward to going again.Parking: Parking wasn't terrible. We got spots up front, coincidentally. Didn't get to see exactly how many spots were available on each side of the building, but upwards of 30, maybe.

Such a cool bar! Went with my mom while I was in town visiting and I really loved it. Super funky atmosphere, lava lamps included. The drinks were so good and so cheap I couldn’t believe it. The people there were fun to talk to and it was really personable.Only downside is that there is a smoking room off the main bar and we could smell the smoke. I am really sensitive to the smell so that was a bummer for me, but I’m told you can’t usually smell it. Would go back and try to sit further away from that side of things and hope they get some fans to blow out that gross smell.

The moment I hit the door for the first time at this establishment, The Shelter was heavy with the smell of cigar smoke. First, the science proved years ago that secondhand smoke is a killer, so why customers and employees are subjected to that by the owners, I don't know. I hope the mixologist has good health insurance. She's going to need it. Although the one Perfect Margarita served in a martini glass was delicious, I couldn't enjoy my time because the smoke smell was uncomfortable. My jeans are in the washer this morning and my head aches - and it's not from drinking.
Drinks are fairly priced. A lot of dangerous drinks lol. Some to sweet to taste the alcohol but they were good as they tasted like the candy it was named after. Good atmosphere and nice place to sit and chat.

Overrated Yes. It has a nice ambiance. But it's simply too small and understaffed. Only one bartender on a Friday night and fully packed. To make matters worse, a lot of valuable space is wasted on an inconveniently placed pool table that causes more disputes than actually serves to improve the place

IN MY OPINION THIS BAR IS NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN!I would give zero stars if I could.I'm a 23 year old female and I was getting harassed by a man in this bar who I told multiple times to stay away from me and he refused so when I tried going to the bartender to tell them what was going on they told me there was nothing they could do about it because it was my word against his.All I asked was that they tell him to keep his distance from me and they couldn't even do that.
