Food cold and probably microwaved. Had to ask for fresh fries. They never came.

Competition #3: Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe vs Whataburger Jr. with CheeseIn this, our third burger battle, we compare Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe to a Whataburger Jr. with Cheese. Our two competing stores are literally across the street from each other on East Speedway… all clumped together as fast food joints tend to be… McDonalds and Subway are just next door. As we established in the first battle, the burger scale is one to ten, ten being imaginary perfection, our own home-grilled burgers at eight, with fast food burgers limited to a scale of one to seven. A subjective comparison — my personal tastes — each score takes into consideration taste, presentation and value.=== Whataburger Jr. with Cheese ===The Whataburger is adorned with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and mustard on a plain bun. The burger can be customized; I ordered the standard edition with cheese. I had believed they charbroiled the beef, but apparently the meat is flat grilled. It was indeed tasty (probably from fat), but it didn’t have that amazing charbroiled taste. The one predominant taste was that of mustard. I love mustard, but it overshadowed the taste of the beef. Were I to order it again, I’d ask them to hold the mustard. The ingredients were really fresh, as you can see in the photo. The Whataburger Jr. with Cheese clocks in at $4.94, making it about the same cost as the Whopper Jr. with Cheese of competition #2, which was charbroiled and tastier.Service: Just fine. Polite & efficient.Atmosphere: Drive thru, so not scored.Score: 4 out of 10. Reasoning: Beef didn’t have the charbroiled flavor I love, and Mr. Mustard was heavy handed.=== Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe ===The Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, catsup, and mayonnaise on a plain bun. Judging by the list of ingredients and looking at the photos, these two contenders are very similar, Wendy’s Jr. with mustard, Whataburger’s Jr. with catsup & mayo. Turns out those condiments make all the difference in these sandwiches. Whereas I found the mustard overwhelming with the Whataburger, the catsup & mayo totally dominated the Wendy’s Jr., abundant sauce dripping off the sandwich and making it a soggy mess. I barely noticed the pickles or onions and… “where’s the beef?" Oh, it’s there… just can’t really taste it for all that sauce. So the Wendy’s Jr. is pretty boring, but at a very attractive price. Certainly better and far more economical than the Big Mac of competition #1 — at $2.49 you can buy three of these sandwiches for less than the cost of a single Big Mac ($7.71). However, it was not as good as the Jr. Jumbo Jack Cheeseburger of competition #2, which was fresher, not saucy soggy, but more expensive ($3.68). And, no, it wasn’t as good as the Whataburger, due to the saucy, soggy consistency.Service: Just fine. Polite & efficient.Atmosphere: Drive thru, so not scored.Score: 3 out of 10. Reasoning: Beef grilled, not charbroiled, no beef flavor, too much sauce, rather soggy, an overwhelming taste of sauce. Value priced at $2.49.=== Results ===WINNER: Whataburger Jr. with Cheese (4/10)ALSO RAN: Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe (3/10)=== All 3 Competitions’ Competitors’ Rankings ===6/10 — Carl’s Jr. California Classic Double Cheeseburger6/10 — Burger King’s Whopper Jr. with Cheese4/10 — Jack In The Box’s Jr. Jumbo Jack® Cheeseburger4/10 — Whataburger Jr. with Cheese3/10 — Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe1/10 — McDonald’s Big Mac

Always hot and delicious, any time of day or night. You might have to wait a bit so be ready to chill, but hot food just made makes it worth it. Excellent Customer Service at this location ?Kid-friendliness: My son loves the chicken tenders meal. And I love the toast and gravy.
