So my son and I went to dine there and I told them I am vegan no meat no dairy. The guy brings our food after we waited quite a while and there’s a big old plop of yogurt right in the middle of the plate. So they take it to the back room and scrape it off. I haven’t eaten dairy in many years and I don’t intend to! Their bread is not very good. They’re competitor café. Desta is much better. The bread is good and they know what I mean, if I say no meat or dairy
such a gem! we’re so lucky to have a place like this in Tucson, The food is absolutely authentic Ethiopian flavors that make every visit feel special. Honestly, anything you order from the menu is delicious.
What makes it even more unique is the atmosphere, it feels like you’ve been invited into someone’s home. I believe it actually was a family home before they turned it into a restaurant, and you can feel that warmth and authenticity the moment you walk in. The bread alone is completely addicting, it’s a real problem lol. We’ve been here multiple times and it does not disappoint if you’re craving Ethiopian food!

I was extremely dissapointed from this place.First you literally had to go through a maze to get to their front entry.I ordered a vegan sampler ($19) to go.I received 3 different things - most of the tray was cooked cabbage,than a scoop of something spicy,(maybe red lentils) , a scoop if spiced canned green beans.and injera bread.the food was very mediocre,nothing special at all and over priced for a bunch of cabbage.The only thing cool was the honest front desk lady who pointed out that i gave her $10 too much.wouldnt go again
Friendly, attentive staff. Beautiful interior. Our food was flavorful and nicely presented. I wish the temperature of the food would have been steaming hot instead of lukewarm.

Our first stop during Sonoran Restaurant Week. First time back in a long time. We really enjoyed our dinner. We had four veggie dishes and two mean dishes. Loaded with flavor from the various spices.
It's a family business and I think the adult grandchildren are working there now. It makes for a nice atmosphere, more relaxed and casual. As an American, we often find it hard to slow down and eat at a more leisurely pace. This is a place where you need to slow down and savor the food.

Never a bad meal at Zemam's. Friendly service from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Their gored-gored, kay wat, and yebeg wat are phenomenal and the greens are just like how my grandma used to make them.

Park by their coffee shop, entrance is behind. Wonderful service and atmosphere, and most important, wonderful food. We ordered a variety of dishes and every one was fabulous.

Just amazing! I eat food there that I won't e as t at home or in other restaurants because how they prepare it. If you don't like collars greens, you will after eating theirs!
