Look for the giant chicken at the door and you'll know you have arrived and are about to experience a greatness. Great food, great service and great margaritas! You must try this place!!!!

Fun place to get some Mexican food close to Tubac. The atmosphere here is nice and they have live music often. Servers are friendly but service is hit or miss as the place gets very busy. Last time I went I was begging to get a refill on my water and the chips/salsa arrived the same time as our main dishes. The Margaritas are very good and the fruit burritos are a must for dessert. The rest I have found to be just ok. The steak is under seasoned/low quality grade, the bacon wrapped shrimp overcooked and the meat in the chimichunga a bit dry. Prices are a bit expensive $17-$25 range per dish, $12 to $17 a mixed drink which is expected for the area. There is much better Mexican food 20 minutes away in either direction but not a bad place if you don't want something close in Tubac.

The cheese crisp with shredded turkey and green chilies was excellent! The margaritas were great and they were served to the table unbelievably fast. The blueberry 'burro' for dessert was so good. A very nice balance of cinnamon, sugar and very lightly fried. An all around great experience.

3 stars only for the very good green corn tamales. Rice and beans meh. I asked to buy frozen tamales and they charge $9 per frozen tamale $36 for 4. I think they're getting a little big for their britches. What a rip off. I said no thanks! And the young waitress helping me was absolutely rude. I spoke to the owner who was no help. I'm sorry to write this review after many years of visiting this place but I was completely surprised by this visit. They're one of the only gigs in town which is why they are so popular I assume. Go to Tucson for Mexican where you get the real deal!

I didn’t take pics and I should have! I ordered the Flautas (to go) which is rolled corn tortillas with shredded beer then deep fried - some places call these rolled tacos or taquitos. The first thing I noticed was the amount of shredded beef inside the fried corn shell was the way it’s supposed to be … most restaurants give you a rolled and fried corn tortilla with such minute shredded beef you’re basically eating just a rolled up fried corn tortilla - I was very satisfied with the proper amount of shredded beef. What comes with the meal is the traditional Mexican or Spanish rice which was made to perfection and refried beans again tasting like beans should taste. On the side was home made (not store processed) guacamole, sour cream, lettuce topped with the perfect amount of cheese and salsa. This was an entree meal at a nominal cost of $19 for four delicious taquitos (flautas) .. The place was packed and I was eating alone and was not forgotten which was really nice experience. The Server was male and pleasant. No free chips and salsa here - a real gem.Parking: I parked across the street as the main parking lot around the restaurant was full. I know to just park over there is the best bet.

Have been there a handful of times, service there has been fine, nothing special. Called from work to place an order to go, they didn’t answer and when the lady called back they told my coworker to “not bother them” as my coworker didn’t know I was going to place an order. Definitely rude service and not worth going to give them my money as they are pricey.

The food here is delicious and the service was excellent! The margaritas here are so so good - a must-have!!! I had the Mary Hixon Plate and the fruit burrito with peaches and pistachios. This place has a unique aesthetic, with lots of art on the walls and tables. But it all fits together nicely.

possibly the best shrimp taco EVER...I'll be back - NOW 5 years later we have been back - about 25 times - which is a lot since we are only here 4 weeks a year. Service and Food always top notch! The Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Shrimp Tacos are my two favorites!!
