We spent a couple of hours discussing and sampling Pillsbury wines with Sam Pillsbury, who by any measure is a Renaissance Man. Mr. Pillsbury is a viticulturist, filmmaker, and world traveler. It was a pleasure to meet him, sample his wine and learn what makes his operation truly unique. I encourage anyone interested in wine, particularly Southern Arizona wine to make the trip to this remote location. It will be well worth it. And, don't be put off by the modest surroundings....
My friends and I had the most amazing time at the winery. The wines are absolutely delicious and the knowledge of Sam Pillsbury epic. It was such a calm and relaxing environment. I will most definitely look for these wines back home. I would recommend anyone visiting the area to stop by the winery for a tasting.
One of our favorite wines from Arizona! We finally got to see where the grapes come from. Sam was there and he was always super gracious and willing to spend a little of his time chatting with you.. Even if he's in the middle of harvest and has been up for over a dozen hours. Put this place on your list of vineyards to visit.
