On our way back to Sedona from the Grand Caynon, my wife wanted to get our kicks on Historic Route 66. We stopped in Williams, AZ to have dinner. We decided on Cruiser's Route 66 Cafe. I fully expected that I was having bbq. Once we walked in you immediately had a 50' - 60' vibe with the jukebox playing all the hits from that era. With the vibe, my heart screamed cheeseburger and a milkshake. My heart was right, the cheeseburger and milkshake was delicious. The...
Stumbled upon this place while passing through Williams. The outside decor (and smell from the smoker) caught our attention so we dined in. The atmosphere is fun, complete with 50s and 60s themed decs. Good menu overall with a self-serve fountain machine. My brisket plate was really tasty and filling. My wife enjoyed her French dip sandwich, which came with lots of fries. One of my daughter's got mac n cheese, which appeared to be straight out of a box. Disappointed...
It's a neat stop for Route 66 travelers. Food was overpriced. We got a couple of orders of mozzarella sticks, a burger, a bowl of soup, and what I'm pretty sure is Kraft mac & cheese. Burger was average. Nothing special. Fries were somewhat cold. All together, we paid over $100 for all that. The Mac & cheese alone was $11. So if you visit, be prepared to shell out a hefty amount of money for average food at best. The service was also a little slow and inattentive.
