We enjoyed a delicious meal at the River City Grill. It was the perfect spot for an anniversary dinner while in Yuma for a couple of weeks. We ordered the Ribeye steak and the Salmon with Risotto. Both were wonderful. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient.

I had the ribeye steak, it was terrible. For a 38.00 steak I didn’t really even want to eat it. It was grizzly and hard to chew. The service was just ok.

My husband and I were in town looking for a local restaurant for dinner. Every review on River City Grill was a 5/5, so we decided to try it. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with this restaurant. We arrived around 8pm, and offered seating only in the main dining area which was very small and at full capacity at the time. We saw some outdoor seating and a back dining area but were not offered a seat there. The dining room was very crowded and loud, making it very hard to hear each other and our waitress. We ordered 2 very different plates, I had the herb crusted chicken and pesto pasta, while my husband ordered the shrimp/scallop/lobster ravioli plate. The chicken was bland and only herb crusted on one side, it did not taste like a true chicken breast, more like a frozen patty. The pesto penne pasta was covered in cilantro, so that is all I tasted with each bite. My husband’s plate only came with 3 scallops, 3 shrimp and 3 lobster raviolis. The seafood did not taste fresh as advertised, it tasted more like the seafood from the frozen section of a grocery store. The price was $36, which we felt was overpriced for the amount of seafood he actually received. The plate was smothered in a yellow sauce that he did not enjoy either (but this is personal preference I’m sure).
The service was good, every waiter/waitress seemed to work together and we were frequently checked on. We were just disappointed in the food and the pricing.

Driving between San Diego and Tucson, we looked for a lunch spot in Yuma and River City Grill had good reviews. It turned out to be way better than that. Everything we had was delicious, and the servers were among the most delightful and helpful people we've ever met. Also, the air conditioned inside was totally charming.
All of the food is prepared in house, including the excellent bread. Top quality ingredients prepared perfectly. The dishes showed some flair, so they weren't just the run-of-the mill stuff you'll typically find on the road. Also, the lunch prices were extremely reasonable. (We didn't look at the dinner menu, so no info on that.)
If we lived closer, we'd eat here a lot. We now have a new go-to place when we drive through Yuma.

My girlfriend and I went for dinner here the other night. We are used to having really good food. And Yuma has been a challenge to find anything really amazing. We are really happy to have tried this place. We shared the crab cakes and both got the Seafood fettuccine, and really enjoyed it. If they really want to put it over the top change out the green beans for asparagus. But it was still excellent and so were the deserts of bread pudding and tiramisu. We look forward to supporting and recommending this restaurant in the future and are excited for date nights and trying different dishes.
