“Some of the best hotdogs and milkshakes ever! Their milkshakes are very decent size (two big scoops) so make sure you are not too full! Great staff and awesome patio to enjoy the weather. Lots of free parking in the residential area behind at the top of the hill.“

“Definitely a must visit. Hungarian restaurant feel to the ambiance. Big window, simple table and chairs and great food. Goulash and chicken paprikash was exactly how I remember it being when I was in Hungary. There's a reason this restaurant is a local favorite. Just make sure book reservations incase.“

“My wife and I have stopped in before on our last visit to Nelson and the food was amazing! We recently stopped in again and the food and service was amazing. It is our favorite breakfast place when we go to Nelson and look forward to going back again soon!“
“My family and I started with the mussels. They were excellent. I had the ravioli, my husband had the salmon salad. The food was delicious. Our waiter Gabe was very attentive and enjoyable. It was a very comfortable atmosphere and we would definitely go back.“

“We visited here solely for the burger of the month: The MILF (Meatloaf I Love to Finish); as part of Nelson's Burger Month, The Vienna Café offered a spicy, smoked meatloaf burger layered with thick crispy bacon, blistered kale, crispy squash, then dressed with tea-smoked onion and apple dijon, wild mushroom aioli, and a spiced marinara topping, all served in a custom black salt brioche. The burger itself was incredible, and I think in part due to the combination of incredible sauces; the strong tea-smoked onion and apple dijon, the rich wild mushroom aioli, and the gently Spiced marinara topping all came together to what was one of the greatest sauce combinations on a burger that I have ever tried; it complimented the meatloaf, bacon, and blistered kale perfectly. The staff are incredible here, they are so warm, friendly, and inviting; such a cute place to come for a meal. I appreciated how communicative and social they are as I'm new in town, they go above and beyond for their customers. The general atmosphere is interesting, as it is seemingly part of an old vinyl and book shop - a pretty unique place with a pretty unique burger this November.“

“Kootenay Bakery is an absolute gem in every way! From the service to the atmosphere to the food...omg the FOOD! Literally every thing that my wife and I have tried is amazing. As we are both world travelers who have spent substantial time all over the world, we both always said that the bakery's in southern France were untouchable, and they were until we tried Kootenay Bakery! Place Kootenay Bakery in France and they will still be a top place to go. The service is provided by amazing people with big smiles and great service and the food is exceptional. One of the, if not THE, best bakeries on the planet! Thank you for so many great meals!“

“A bit tight but great otherwise. Had some fantastic mexican grill with good margaritas, gold guac, and gold vibes. There's also lots of original psychadelic paintings on the walls from a local artist that are on sale for a reasonable price.“
