“My partner and I were looking for somewhere new for us to eat as we tend to go to the same two places. We took to Google and found Broken Hill. The reviews were excellent… except one. We read the review and laughed then read the owner’s response and decided we HAD to try it.The food was excellent. Tasty, filling, and in today’s pricing, very good value. We had the duck wings, brisket, and brisket Mac. 10/10 would go again. Thank you for the great service Amanda, and others, can’t wait to come and try everything else!”

“Consistently amazing service and an affordable fine dining menu. The pizzas are fantastic in a town that has some very stiff competition. The pastas are en pointe and the mains are plated gorgeously and taste wonderful. Highly recommend leaving room for dessert, you won't be disappointed and their pistachio cardamom gelato is divine. To top it off they have a great selection of cocktails and a fine selection of wines. A great destination venue for special occassions. Will gladly return time and again!”

“As a Nelson local, Main Street Diner has been one of my go to's for many many years and that remains unchanged. The food here is ALWAYS amazing, cooked and presented perfectly and the staff is top notch!Recently, for our 3rd wedding anniversary(March 21st), my wife and I chose Main Street Diner as our place to celebrate and boy did we choose correctly!The staff (as always) were super polite and efficient and the food...oh my god the food was unbelievably delicious! Every single bite on both of our plates were savoured. We chose to split the Calamari dish with caesar salad as well as the Fish n chips this time out and we are still talking about how great our entire experience was that evening, and how every time we eat there we feel the same way!Shoutout to Nick and his amazing staff! “As someone with Celiac disease, they accommodated me beautifully. The fryer is kept gluten free, so I tried the ginger "beef" cauliflower wings which were..... literally life changingly delicious. And for my main I got the Soul Bowl, which was absolutely fulfilling and satisfying. I highly recommend this place to anyone (veggie, gluten free or not). I will definitely be going back again when in town!!Vegetarian options: As a former meat eater, they make vegetarian easy!Dietary restrictions: Accommodated celiacs so good, 0 reaction at all. “we were spending a couple nights in Nelson. we stopped at Backwoods for lunch. great beer selection. JJ suggested we get pizza across the street for food. Thanks to him, I had the best NY style pizza I have had in a long time, and I'm originally from NYC now Oregon. JJ was awesome to chat with about Nelson. I came back later to fill a growler. 5 stars for staff and beer”

“Tonight was the first time I have been to thors! I am a pizza lover and have been all over Canada eating it and loving it. “Absolutely phenomenal Japanese food. From living in Japan for more than five years, I would say the dishes served at Kurama are, hands down, the best around. Absolutely fantastic and fresh nigiri; the tuna, hamachi, and salmon are especially delicious. Their Kurama rice is awesome and their miso burgers for Burger Month are incredibly unique and tasty. In these times of razor-thin restaurant profit margins, their prices are also very reasonable. Go support Taka san, Yuki san, and their wonderful family and kind professional staff the next time you are wondering where to eat.とても美味しかったです。”

“Just cocktails down in this little speakeasy. No matter who your bartender is either Cameron or Cody and their counterparts will provide you with a delicious and wonderful experience. I cannot recommend it enough. No place in Nelson holds a candle to this place for delicious cocktails and atmosphere.”
