The reviews of this place are misleading as it has clearly changed hands since 2022. We stopped for lunch here as there was no other option in Alert Bay open at 11am. There is no longer an Indian menu (curry etc) as suggested in some reviews. There is no breakfast menu. On our visit it was staffed by one chef and one server front-of-house. The food is very basic greasy-diner quality and the service is adequate. The washrooms are borderline unacceptable - let’s just say the public washrooms at the ferry terminal were cleaner… In summary, a barely adequate pit-stop for the desperately hungry. But next time we’ll bring our own food over on the ferry… avoid if possible.

I ordered the BLT and enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee while I waited for my food, which wasn't too long. The food was fantastic. I know it was just a BLT, but it was a very good BLT...lol. Will definitely come back to try something else on the menu. Such a cute little restaurant with of course a small town vibe. If you're in Alert Bay, you should stop be.

Burgers including the veggie burgers were really good! Good spot to stop for lunch on the island. Atmosphere was fine, toilet was a disaster. The service was very very good and friendly.

The food was delightful, but took quite some time to prepare. Which wasn’t really a problem because the couple running the place was very nice and they tried their best.

For this town it is a good place, your typical food with friendly service. The waittime is a little long.

OMGosh New owner, new menu. My 1st Philly steak sandwich. Sooo good. Nice bun. Better than Gordon Ramsays bun at the old Hard Rock in Coquitlam!!! Good job Dave🤗
New Owners and new Menu. Loved the poutine and nachos.
First, I'd like to say the couple running the place seem very nice and we don't like writing bad reviews. That said, maybe they've lost their love for the business. We should have paid attention to some of the previous reviews but there were enough to get the restaurant 4.3 stars so we ignored the poor ones. Our lunch was an experience we'd like never to relive. Yes, it was edible, greasy, tasteless, bland, uninspired and not worth the calories for sure. Worse was the cleanliness of the place. The floor throughout the eating area was sticky and likely hadn't been mopped in ages. The washroom was on another level of filth entirely. Someone had diarrhea in there in the last century and it was left on the walls to dry into a form of wallpaper. The toilet seat was encrusted with ages of excrement. The soap dispenser was empty along with the paper towel dispenser and the floor hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. This filth was definitely not fresh. It's really quite sad and we're sorry to have to say anything but this is obviously not a new thing. PS: the mushroom mozzarella burger is not vegetarian.
