Morning bliss at The Snug Cafe, Bowen Island. Fresh ingredients, perfectly brewed coffee, and a dreamy patio that screams island vibes. Every bite feels homemade. Just grab a sunny table, sip slowly, and soak in the coastal calm.

Disappointed given the high average reviews.

We ordered an 8oz latte and an 8oz decaf cappuccino. We were then served a decaf espresso shot and the cashier then insisted that’s what we had ordered and asked us to pay the difference to get what we originally ordered, which we were happy to do.

Unfortunately the coffees, when we did get them, weren’t worth the hassle. They were weak, bland, and much larger than 8oz.

While there we saw multiple other people order and then have to come back up to the counter to clarify or ask where their food was. The cashier was openly holding his head in his hands at one point, not helping customers in line…

Color me impressed. This little coffee shop on a small island has served us one of the best breakfast sandwiches we have ever had in a coffee shop. Beats lots of hyped places in mega cities. You can tell the ingredients used are fresh. No stale bread - no bland food. I had the caprese sandwich and my husband had the snugwich (he loved it so much, he ordered another one)
A must try if you are visiting Bowen Island.

The breakfast wrap was so good and hearty. The service was friendly. Only thing I would have changed was the coffee.

I hesitated a lot before coming here to write this review. i have always liked dining at the Cafe whenever i visited Bowen Island, and have only had one bad experience recently. We went to Bowen island for a hike in mid October and went there early in the morning. We ordered warm food, but the food came in plates that were icy cold. The food was lukewarm at best. And within half an hour after the breakfast when we just hiked into the woods, one of us had acute diarrhea. Fortunately, she had medication in her first-aid kit. During the course of the day, she had to take medication three times to control the diarrhea. Otherwise the hike would have had to be aborted. Imagine getting up at 5am and taking the ferry and then having to cancel the trip due to food poisoning.
i am only writing this review as a reminder that maybe there is still room for improvement in food quality.

Service was fast even if it was busy. Food is delicious, I had a bacon bagel with a side of potatoes and I shared a latte + a donut with my boyfriend. It’s worth the stop! 😋

Cute place that deserves the hype but in future, would only order their premade food. The cooked dishes have small portion sizes and taste fine, but for their price, would have been happier with their just as good ready-made items
