Tuscany Restaurant

After a day of exploring we enjoyed a nice meal in Bowen Island before heading back to mainland.
Nice courtyard style patio a four minute walk from the Bowen ferry docks. Italian trattoria and quality pizza and pasta served from a beautiful, wisteria covered building.

The ambience here is very good but the unprofessional and long wait time from being seated, getting our meals, to fifteen minute wait for the bill aftee flagging down twice made experience disappointing. I understand shortage of employees working in the kitchen, but there is a so much time one can be patient especially if you not check on refills of water on such a hot day

The food was amazing and the service good. Of particular note was the evening floor show. A buck black tailed deer jumped over the fence and into the restaurant inches behind my partner. As it landed it lost its footing crashing into the floor. It was up in an instant and made for the exit vaulting the fountain in the middle of the outdoor patio and dodging a few remaining tables. We encountered it shortly after eating apples in a field nearby. Quite the exciting dinner.

Food was really good ,really enjoyed our pasta . it took a while to get the food , but the service needs way more improvement . The male server seemed to be more proactive in chatting with his coworkers than clearing and bringing out the food.We had to constantly wave him down quite a few times . Our waiter did not clear our sharing plate and made us eat on the same plate for our entrees after our appetizer. We thought it was similar to other patrons but other waitresses and waiters were clearing plates after appetizers . It took a bit of time for ours to come . Then they cleared out the cutlery brought the entree out and didn’t bring cutlery for our entree, which one of the plates was pasta . We were waiting quite a bit and decided to wave another waitress down for cutlery. Because he was chatting. Was hoping to be a better experience . But was quite sad it was not.

Ordered the Emilia 8 inch and tiramisu for takeout and wowowowow...the flavours were fantastic. Great vibe with a long lineup. Glad I ordered to go!

Will definitely be back on my next visit.

Super great spot! We walked up the day before and made a reservation for dinner for the next night.

Our waitress was great and service was fast and attentive. The bolognese pasta was fresh and tasted great. We also tried the special on the board which was burrata, peaches & prosciutto which was also excellent. Highly suggest this spot.

We have dined multiple times over the past few years however this year the service was terrible. The young (French?) guy serving us has a real attitude and should probably find another type of job. This is a real disappointment as we loved coming here on our visits

Food was incredible, one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. Cocktails are incredible and perfectly balanced just like advertised. 0 notes, 0 complaints just pure praise.

Service was perfect; attentive in the best amount and our waiter was always there exactly when we needed them.

Atmosphere is top notch with the Edison bulbs lighting up the surrounding vines and other plants spread around overhead.

One of the best meals weve had on Bowen, going to be coming back just for the pizza again for sure.

Food was fine. The service was horrendous.

We did have our 3 month old with us (who spent most of the meal sleeping). If you’re a parent and reading this, just go somewhere else.

From start to finish:
- didn’t receive menus when we sat down (not the only table)
- the server wanted very little to do with us. We never heard the specials (all the tables around us did)
- we ordered a couple of desserts and once they finally came, one was dropped by a server (not ours) She said she would get another going right away. We were pretty calm and patient. Stuff happens. Here’s the kicker, our server came back, said he heard there was an issue and another one was coming right up. 10 minutes later he came back and said “they’re not going to make another one so I will remove it from your bill”

So very odd.

Our first bill still had the dessert on it.

Honestly, there are far better food options around.

We decided to go for the Toscano salad for 2 and a half and half large pizza - Dolce Inferno and Emilia- Romagna. The food was delicious and the patio was beautiful! It was a very enjoyable evening.

We book a reservation here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our server was incredible friendly and personable, and the food came out quickly after we ordered. We had chili prawns as an appetizer and two pasta dishes (Halibut Lemon Linguini and Zucchini Linguini Special) for dinner, all were absolutely incredible. This pasta is on par with the handmade pasta I've had in Italy. We sat on the patio which was beautiful. I would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting Bowen Island!

It definitely needs better management as it does have potential. However currently the availability of tables (restaurants can be busy, however turning back several customers is never a good idea) We finally got a table after being refused initially, and went back again to insist that we wanted to eat there because of a personal reason) the host took our number and did call us when a table became available. However the table was not clean, the glass was stained with improper cleaning marks and had dried up sauce smeared in places. Had to point out to the host, who then cleared up the smeared and dried sauce, but the table was still covered with unsightly marks. What's a clean glass table needs to be shown to the staff! Water was not kept on the table, we had to ask for it. There was some changeover taking place so order taking and serving were delayed.
There was a table for 2 near the entrance which was wobbly, the team solved it by keeping a tissue wrapped fork and spoon under the leg to steady it 😀. Should this be called ingenious or shoddy?
All good things must either be maintained or made better not deteriorate. ..that's what's happening here according to me.

The setting outside is lush and cool after a day of sunny hiking. I hade the mushroom ravioli, which was excellent! The staff seemed a little frazzled. All in all, a nice dinner experience

We stopped here for dinner as part of a Bowen Island Dinner Boat Tour with Vancouver Water Adventures. I had the vegan mozzarella on the margarita. It was so fresh with sun-dried tomatoes and basil and was really filling. The setting was lovely outside and the restaurant had a really good atmosphere. It was busy on a Friday night so would probably advise making a reservation.

Incredible Handmade Pastas and Delicious Pizzas! Staff was fantastic! Must visit when you are on Bowen Island! ❤️
