Extraordinary food with very good portion size and marvelous taste!! The fact that it wasn't busy when we went, helped us enjoy the ambience and the food even more!

I was looking for a good Balkan Place in Vancouver and this one hit the spot. Plenty of space, the inside reminds me of old restaurants in Europe. Lots of meat (platter for 1 is probably enough for two). Quick service. I will be back!

Mega huge portions. A platter for 2 was enough for 4, and lasted is 3 meals

Decent food with little bit higher than mediocre food
This place is quite the hidden gem! A but discerning on the outside, classic & comforting wood grain on the inside! For all the numerous Sushi, Korean, Pho, Greek, Mexican, Chinese, etc. restaurants around, simple Balkan cuisine was a plesant change of pace.
The bread was baked fresh, served with olives and entire wedges of feta cheese! The calamari was light, crispy, and not greasy at all. The meat was well seasoned, cooked well, and included homemade sausage. It was a bit light on the veggies, the meat being served with mashed potatoes & rice, so I might recommend a side salad to start.
If I had to describe the cuisine, I'd say it's a cross between Greek & German.
We went at a likely slow point (830 pm on a Tuesday) so the diningbroom was nearly completely empty... so we got great service directly from the owner/manager.
I'd imagine it probably be a bit busier around the dinner rush, or at least it deserves to be.
Simple? Yes. Delicious? Also yes! Worth going back? Absolutely!!!
We were with a large number of people, and we were still served in good time.
Homey vibe. Good food (especially for meat eaters).
Amazing food. Great vibes. Friendly people. What's not to like?

Amazing food, absolutely delicious grilled meats!!! Balkan diet at its finest. Only deducting a star because the interior could really use some cosmetic updates.

If you want a meat fest, Balkan House is the place to go! It is open for both lunch & dinner. Exterior of the restaurant looks like an Alpine Lodge, interiors is nice with lots of seatings for small & large groups. Service was good, they are attentive and checking on us during our dinner. We ordered the Balkan platter for 2, plenty of food for 4 people. Meat was cooked nicely, flavour was great. Their mashed potatoes was so yummy.
There’s actually a buffet on the weekend, I have never tried but I heard there’s a lot of meat choices in the buffet. Well, the Balkan platter was plenty enough for us. Do check it out, you won’t regret it.
