When they first opened, I used to enjoy the food, but for the price point it is not worth it. I ordered 2 buns and 3 mushroom dumplings with a bottle of juice, and it cost $17. Which did not make much sense as their combos are a lot cheaper. I do, however, enjoy their truffle mushroom dumplings. Everything else is quite mediocre.

2023-04-08. Chef Tiny Dim Sum. Metropolis food court.Heard some good things about chef Tony's Dim Sum so I had to give it a try. Picked up a few of the dishes the pork dumpling, the pork sticky rice, and the pork soup dumplings. Was told I had to wait about 10 mins for the soup dumplings. No biggie.Think they forgot about me because everyone came and went with their food and I was last man standing. They asked me what I ordered and I couldn't remember. The receipt I received had no detail, but they looked it up. They picked my order and it wasn't until now (that I'm writing this review) that I realized I disinterested get what I had originally ordered. I ended up getting two of my three dishes I ordered and instead of the pork dumplings, I received the coconut taro buns. Shame too, as that was not a good dish...Pork soup dumplings. The skin was thick and the vinegar was missing ginger. There was also very little soup which is the star of the dish. Definitely had better 2 stars.Pork sticky rice. This dish was actually very good. It had all the right ingredients in all the right proportions. Umami flavor from the mushrooms, juicy ground pork, and salted egg yolk sandwiched between two layers of sticky rice. The only downfall of this dish is the portion. Three small pieces which make up only half an order when you get it at the restaurants. 5 stars.Pork dumplings. Was actually looking forward to this dish, but unfortunately didn't get it. They gave me the wrong dish!Coconut taro bun. Got this in error of the pork dumplings. Another disappointment from chef tony here. The bun to filling ratio was and I did not detect any coconut flavour. The taro filling was decent, but not impressive. Nothing remarkable about this dish.Overall, Chef Tony was a bust for me in this visit. All the dishes are $7,99 which is not cheap, but makes it easy and convenient for pricing which I like. It's high for dim sum, but you're in the GVA so it's not a shocker. I wish they had got my order right and not given me the taro buns over the pork dumplings but what can you do... 2 stars overall. If You would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Bon Appétit!

Food is good and the customer service was great! Just a bit pricier than I thought food court dim sum would be.

The best dim sum you can get in a good court. I came at lunch time and the food was fresh and the texture and moisture of all the pieces was excellent

My food experience was very good. The taste and freshness of the products was delicious and everything came on time. I can only say that the food was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the person at the entrance, she was a bit rude in the way she responds. The servers move fast; don't expect them to be smiling all the time because the volume of customers is quite large and the employees are moving very fast. In general was a good experience.Parking: The restaurant Is in a Little mall but the parking Is bussy. Take a Little bit yo find a spot. There Is a pay parking close too.

So delicious!!I tried a whole bunch of different dim sum to find a favorite, but I just can't choose!Everything is delicious in its own way, and I love that the dimsum combo lets us choose any of the 6 items. My only complaint is that it is a little hard to read the menu with the screens changing, but it is simple enough to figure out how to order when you've been there once!Vegetarian options: They have a tofu option too

We have been going to chef Tony for years and would come each time we visit Vancouver. The last two times the pork on the xiu mai tasted "porky" like it was either old or not prepared well. We bought Chinese donut yesterday and it was soaked in oil. Not sure what happened to chef Tony but the quality has gone down. The ha gow is still good though.

I wish they had this at Coquitlam Centre..Their food is amazing.. and I'm not just comparing to food court standards.

Only ordered the steamed dim sum items directly and they’re generally quite good. The custard buns and siu mai have been delicious and reheat well at home.

NOT HOT ENOUGH! Bring your own Microwave!!The basic of the dim sum flavors not bad but failed on one basic crucial standard of Chinese food TEMPERATURE!! Their keep warm method for the dim sum is wrong. The double boil tray cannot keep the steam temperature up to standard!! Disappointed!

Food is really respectable for a food court, and the great tasting dimsum at half the price of the restaurants was a pleasant surprise. It is less expensive than going to a dimsum restaurant and offers fairly identical dishes. Would come back! Overall, this is a decent spot for a quick dim sum fix. For dim sum, I'd stick to the safe options like spring rolls buns and Siu mai, plus the rice is a terrific price! This is a venue that I would strongly suggest. Chef Tony are located in Metrotown's food court

Good food. The specials were good. I would try it again. Tastier option compared to other food court alternatives

Those steam food are exactly same as the restaurant in Richmond...which is good. But they are always room temperature's cold. I had mentioned this issue to the food court and restaurant few times but still the same issue which made the food in here isn't as enjoyable as in the restaurant.

I have been visiting here since they open. I used to like their pork rice a lot. But last visit was so disappointed! When I picked up, no broccoli or other veggies. I was told because they have nothing left over. With no apology and not informed when I was ordering, I was told usually when they have veggies left over for the day, they put some in pork rice. Well, sounds like veggie is not what I was supposed to get for the last few years. But actually they have broccoli on their menu picture. Not a big deal, but to me, it was a cheat. So sad.

Was expecting a really bad experience here but honestly I think people just expect too much from a food court dimsum/chef Tony.Got the combo A and beef tendon. The beef tendon is rly good. Arrived steamy hot too.Everything was fresh ish, at least no stale rice or dimsum. The fried rice wasn’t oily which was good. Was disappointed in the shrimp dumplings tho, the filling is very mushy. Can’t even tell it’s shrimp lol.Overall happy that there’s a food court dimsum option, but won’t get it again if there was no discounts with delivery apps like this time.
