Can't tell you about the food because we didn't get to eat here today. We walked in at 831pm (they close at 9 pm), and the lady at the till greeted us, and I told her we'll be doing takeout. We just finished looking at the drinks and food options and ready to order when she then told us they were closed! I would have been fine if you told us when we walked in, but not after we were there for 5 mins looking at your menu! Not even just honor the fact we walked in already and be the last ordering client. Disappointed.
This is my new favourite restaurant. Every single dish I order is delicious and often very healthy and really good portions and high quality. Can't recommend it enough!
We ordered the Sausage Kimchi Kimbap, Tuna Kimchi Kimbap, and Jajangmyeon. Unfortunately, they were all bad.
The Jajangmyeon had a strange fishy smell and an unpleasant plasticky/detergent-like aftertaste. For some reason this weird taste was also present in both kimbaps even though they were completely different dishes.
We couldn't overcome this strange taste and ultimately had to throw the entire order out.
Really disappointed, especially considering how excited we were to try this place.
Impeccable flavor of their bibimbap, love the homemade hot sauce. Amazing service, such sweet owners. Thank you for such a good time!
Amazing fried chicken and kimchi! And the people are the nicest♥️
Looking forward to trying more- so pleased they have a large number of vegetarian items!
I loved it! It was quite affordable as well and Big portions of food! I got the Bibimbap and it was delicious!
I have wanted to try Korean food other than Korean barbecue, but did not even know where to start. With dietary preferences, we can’t enjoy the multitude of Korean restaurants. With some googling (thank you review community!) we came across #chibop and had such a wonderful Food and sensory experience.
This family owned establishment really caters to an English speaking crowd, with food items well explained on the menu. They have a separate vegan section, which is full of all sorts of goodies.
We had the
1. seafood pancake, which was sublime. sautéed caramelized vegetables and tender seafood coated in a fluffy yet crispy pancake batter.
2. The Japchae was full of bright, just the right size vegetables. Noodles cooked to gooey perfection, and a generous serving.
3. And the Mandu with the sweet, spicy sour sauce were filling and fun to eat.
I enjoyed a white peach soju spritzer with the meal.
The owner Pera and her staff are very friendly and were helpful with our questions around the food.
Look forward to going back!
I absolutely adore the kimbap here! Stumbled upon here by luck and now i order their kimbap regularly whenever im in the area! Super flavourful and enjoyable! Not to mention they also make a really fried chicken especially the Honey Soy Garlic!! Cant wait to order my next meal here :)
Food was really bad. Meat was served cold and it’s smelled disgusting. I feel sick after eating from this place.
I’d do 5 stars because it does taste quite good 👍
Just a bit pricey. 😏
Restaurantji Recommends
Always my first option around Burnaby. Best fried chicken I tried, we love the honey garlic and the spicy one. They always are willing to recommend food and explain the ingredients
Some of the best Korean food I’ve had in Vancouver! Our server was so lovely. Highly recommend taking house kimchi to go! So yummmy!
Wasn't a big fan of their bulgogi a couple of years ago, but gave them another chance. The fried chicken is pretty god, the kimbap is good but has too much carrot filler imo
All the food we ordered was great but the fried chicken was amazing. Extremely crispy and great flavour
edited:In total, I waited nearly double the time that the restaurant told me to wait for, after calling. 15min to nearly 30min, ordered only a kimbap
