I used to frequent the Dae-Ji in Coquitlam back in the day (and I've actually visited this one across from Metrotown a few times back in 2016). As with most people, I've gotten lazy over the years and decided to order take out in early October.I picked the hamburg steak and the pork cutlet with curry sauce. Thankfully, the food traveled well. The pork cutlet was still nice and crispy with a bold curry sauce. Both dishes came with shredded cabbage, potato salad, mac salad, and miso soup. I forgotten how much I liked their thick and juicy hamburg steaks with that demi-glace sauce.

The lunch set is definitely a good deal. ~$20 for a fancy set! No wonder it is limited everyday and only available on weekdays. Had the same set before and everytime the side dishes are a little different. All the dishes are so delicious, especially the Katsu. Large portion and could not finish it.

What happened to Daiji? The menu has totally changed and portions got way smaller for a lot more money… it’s just not the same anymore did the ownership change or something? ? on top of this the rice wasn’t even cooked properly seriously undercooked and hard… very disappointing Id give the food a zero stars if it was an option.

I usually don't leave restaurant reviews, but the food...its so bad. People need to know and maybe the restaurant will make improvements.Food used to be average, now I wish the cooks try their own food. They will know exactly what I'm talking about. Everything watered down...literally.You can taste the water seperately in the kimchi Tofu soup. How is this even possible?? The sauce also watered down. Small portions for cutlet? Well things are different now, but for the price and quality? yes it's still too small.

To be honest I expect more since I’ve been seeming good reviews on my tik tok about this place. I got the beef bulgogi and it came with side dishes, rice and miso soup. My friends both go the sweet spicy chicken. The portions for each dish is enough for 1 person. I guess the atmosphere and the vibes I got from the staff wasn’t very exciting and made the place seem a bit boring. That’s just me though. Anyways if you want to have quick Korean food when you’re around Metrotown this isn’t a bad options

After renovations and a menu revamp, it’s like a completely different restaurant experience compared to the previous no frills, low budget, big portions value proposition of the old Daeji pork cutlet. It’s more similar to a teishoku style restaurant with familiar favorites. Everything we had was delicious. The cold soba noodles was surprisingly satisfying. It’s a bit like naengmyun, but with soba. Great texture and flavour. We also had the udon soup and katsu combo. Savoury, heartwarming udon soup with tofu and fish cake. Definitely want to try the hambag, Japanese hamburg steak combo next time.

My wife brought me here one day because she heard it was good. I didn't expect it to be great! The portions are amazing for what you pay. The dozen little side dishes that come with a meal was superb. A must visit if you want great Korean food ?.

Great experience and great food although the pricing has been up since the last time I was there a few years ago. It's about $ 18 per meal now. It is not their fault since inflation has been rising. The portions are good, not too much nor too little. The servers were nice and we felt welcomed. It's nice that they have the button to call the server rather than putting our hands up.

Go back to try the new menu as looks like the restaurant went through the renovation. And we’re blown by the new dishes especially the cold noodle dish and a variety of side dishes and the set menu is really filling and delicious.

I don't know why they changed their menu. It isn't as good as before. Pork katsu sauce severely lacked flavor, macaroni seasoning changed and it's no longer any good at all. Overall very blend and not so much flavor in everything we ordered. Oh, and the salad dressing also changed and it's not good.A little tip for delivery packaging, when someone orders chicken and pork katsu, maybe label it on the box? Honestly could not tell the difference which one is pork and which one is chicken. Even the taste and texture was the same. Maybe we got two chicken or two pork? I have no idea.

Small cutlet. Good udon fish cake soup. A bit overpriced. First time here, and after reading the reviews, I feel I'm missing out on how allegedly better they were in the past. Service was great. Flavours were good.

This place is recently renovated and no longer orange. We ordered the pork bone soup and spicy pork BBQ. The main dishes are good but the sides were not my preference. I enjoyed the kimchi and mashed potatoes. But not a fan of the lotus root and rice cake with condensed milk. But that is more my own preference. I wished they had the bean sprouts or bean curd sides. Overall it was good.Parking available in the parking lot off Nelson. But if a very small lot.

Crazy good portion sizes. Can't really go wrong! Though I must say, you might want to look somewhere else if you're looking for an authentic Korean taste. Sadly, I will not recommend the Tteokbokki as well.
