Did a quick Google search for sushi in the area, being from out of town. This was one of the first places to pop up and once I did a quick look at their online menu and saw all the vegetarian options, it was an easy decision.
Everything was so fresh and delicious! Very cute little space, which feels hard to find in the busy city. 😊

Top-notch sushi! I thought I had had excellent sushi before but I was wrong. Haku Sushi provides exceptional fresh food at very reasonable prices. The food was beautifully presented and every bite was amazing.
Our server was such a sweetheart (I'm sorry I didn't get her name but she had moved from Victoria).

Our current go to Japanese place serving fantastic rolls. Try the mango salad roll and the Alaska roll! Service is top notch, friendly and welcoming. Place is small so make a reservation during peak times.

Visited in March 2025. This small eatery is tucked in the back of Old Orchard so it's a bit hidden.
Ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box ($14.95) which came with a saucy version of chicken teriyaki, salad, California roll, takoyaki, and tuna and salmon nigiri. Good price point.
The Tuna Gomae ($8.95) is basically tuna sashimi with spinach gomae. Well executed.
The Salmon Tataki ($12.95) was seared and came with a vinaigrette while the Appetizer Sashimi ($13.95) had 2pc tuna, 2pc Atlantic salmon, 1pc shrimp, 1pc sockeye salmon.
The Black Dragon Roll ($17.95) was very tall. It's stuffed with prawn tempura and imitation crab and topped with avocado and unagi. Very good roll.
Overall, pretty good food in a hidden gem of a restaurant.
UPDATE - August 2025: Returned for a revisit and got the Sashimi Appetizer ($13.95) 6pc of fresh sashimi. Also got the Gomae ($6.95) which was ok. Nice and crisp Chicken Karaage ($10.95). The Caterpillar Roll ($15.95) with eel, cucumber, avocado, imitation crab, and unagi sauce was super creamy but I found the seaweed a bit hard to chew through.

One of my favorite sushi spots in Burnaby! Their aburi salmon is my absolute favorite—the sauce on top is unique compared to other places I’ve tried. It has a sweet and slightly spicy Korean-style flavor that I really love.
I’ve been here many times, and the consistency is always great. For me, the most important part of a sushi restaurant is the freshness of the fish, and this place never lets me down. The salmon is always so fresh every time we visit.
Our go-to order is the aburi combo and combination B with salmon, and it’s been perfect every single time. I’ve never once been disappointed here!

I wish I lived here just so I could eat at this sushi spot every single week! Everything was absolutely incredible. The mushroom soup with mandoo was so flavorful and comforting — I could have had two bowls. The sashimi was unbelievably fresh, with generous, perfectly cut pieces that melted in my mouth. Every bite left me wishing this place was in my neighborhood. A true gem for anyone who loves quality sushi and delicious flavors!
We just visited this place, and the experience with the waiter was very disappointing. As soon as we walked in, she told us to “stay there” with an attitude. When I reached for the menu, she backed away aggressively as if I wasn’t even supposed to look at it. I honestly don’t know what was wrong, but the behavior came across as extremely rude.
