Ordered lobster set dinner with 3 dishes for $148 + $10 noodle base. Lobster tastes great, very fresh. However the bitter melon with beef - the bittermelon was really hard - not thoroughly cooked through and a taste a bit too salty. The 3 dishes that comes with the combo does not have any choices of rice or noodle - you need to pay more to get more starch. The red bean dessert is also a bit overly sweet.
It's okay spot for HK Cantonese food. It still has the atmosphere of Swiss Chalet and the service is as expected from a HK cafe. The disappointment was the food as it was underwhelming. It's not terrible but not good either. The flavor and quality was okay, and just okay. Maybe it's the dishes I ordered, but they have a wide range to choose. Next time I'll try something different.
This is a reincarnation of long time East Van favorite before a bulldozer fell through the parking lot of their old location. The food is now better, more artistic, but quite a bit more expensive. Large serving sizes. The baked pork buns look like Teddy bears. It's about 30% more expensive than the equivalent.
