Stunning views of Deer Lake! The garden patio is the best in Burnaby for a special lunch. I loved the Pacific salmon and the service was impeccable. A peaceful, heritage, high-end escape. As an older building, it has its quirks but that also adds to its charm.

Cute brunch spot in Burnaby. This spot is definitely more elevated and the service was very good. They have a good selections of options for vegetarians/vegans and they also have alternative milks for coffee. The toilets are nice and clean.

Large parking lot, free parking.

They host large events and weddings here in the summer.

Another fabulous experience and exceptional meal! The food is spectacular and our server Gabrielle is in my opinion one of the very best I've ever experienced! Knowledgeable, personable and professional. This restaurant is lucky to have her dealing with their customers!! Thank you!!

Had a great brunch experience on Valentines day. Food was great (French toast was good but the smoked sockeye rosti was amazing!)

The atmosphere is beautiful. The house itself is gorgeous and there are big windows with a view to the grounds and the look. Just beautiful!

It was my birthday and I usually don't partake in Dine-Out Vancouver but we were there during the event and ordered the 3 course dinner. We were very pleased with the creative and tasty dishes - a talented chef in the kitchen! We were not at all rushed which is the reason we had been disappointed at other restaurants during Dine-Out. Thank you for providing us with a very tasty and pleasant experience!

We met dear friends for dinner at the Hart House last night, Saturday February 7th. We live nearby and they travelled from North Vancouver. They had never been and were suitably impressed with the location, setting and of course the fact we were dining in a heritage building that was once a private family home. We also reminded them that a mutual friend of ours was once the GM (decades past), they were not aware! First: The service - we were greeted warmly by a young man who ended up also being our server. We were taken directly to our table, a lovely quiet spot in the corner. Our conversation was easily flowing due to the quiet ambience of the dining room and the attentive but discreet service. Second: The wine - so many excellent and reasonably priced choices. We didn't order full bottles, only individual glasses, which was greatly appreciated as we all prefer different varietals. Third: The food - OMG the food. Wow. I was the only one who ordered the Dine Out Vancouver menu, however we all had a starter and main. I had the coconut prawns followed by the Steelhead. I have never had a more flavourful dish, it was absolutely delicious. Our friends and my husband seemed similarly pleased with their meals as their plates were completely empty when finished! Desserts were shared between each couple, my husband and I had the Dine Out featured Citrus Pavlova and our friends shared the Chocolate Sticky Toffee Pudding. Wow. We feel so fortunate to have this restaurant within walking distance of our house and we will return again and again. Looking forward to a Spring Brunch on the gorgeous patio overlooking the lake!

i ordered their roasted almond squash, duck leg and chocolate pudding as a 3 course dinner 😋 the roasted almond squash was really good and it also looked very pretty 😍 the duck was okay but a bit too salty 😛 the chocolate pudding was too sweet in my opinion 🙂 the server we had was super nice and they also provide kids menu!

First time back at Hart House in many years; the interior still has that Tudor style/heritage charm. Service was friendly and efficient, and they checked in regularly to see if we were enjoying our food. We had their Dine Out Vancouver menu ($58 per person) and a couple of non-alcoholic beverages.

From their Dine Out menu, all the dishes were great. Loved the plating of the Roasted Acorn Squash (variety of textures), and the breaded Coconut Prawns came with 7 prawns. Good portion for an appetizer.

For the mains, the Confit Duck Leg was tender, and the Seared Steelhead was melt in your mouth tasty. We were fans of both of the desserts, the layered and moist Chocolate Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the Citrus Pavlova (huge in size, and the lemon curd balanced the sweetness of the sweet meringue). While not an everyday meal kind of restaurant for us, the quality and quantity of food, exceptional service, and general ambiance are well appreciated. Would recommend.

Hart House Restaurant feels elegant and peaceful, tucked away from the busy parts of the city. The setting is beautiful, especially the historic building and the surrounding grounds. It feels like a special place meant for slow, thoughtful meals.

The food is carefully prepared and well presented. Flavors are balanced, and ingredients taste high quality. Each dish feels intentional, not rushed, and portion sizes are just right for a fine dining experience.

Service is professional and attentive without being stiff. Staff are knowledgeable and explain dishes clearly. You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down until the end of the meal.

We came here for my husband’s birthday and had a really nice time. The spot by Deer Lake is beautiful and the restaurant feels cozy and welcoming. We had the duck leg and lamb shank — both were super tasty and cooked really well. The hummus to start was also delicious. Friendly service and a great place for a special night out.
