JJ Bean has been a Vancouver staple for me and always has good, smooth coffee!
I recently visited the Station Square location and had one of the chocolate chip banana bread loaves. 1 hour later, I had a case of extreme food poisoning from it. I have never had food poisoning this bad, let alone from a pastry item anywhere.
I’m sure this was a one off case as I’ve had it multiple times with no issues, but I would recommend that they be mindful of the cling wrapped loaves and their expiration dates.
Will definitely be back once I can black this memory of bad banana loaf out, but a bit hesitant considering there is another recent review of food poisoning here.

Went on Sunday at the Metrotown location after a long time. Staff there used to be friendly and kind. This time very poor customer service , not sure if they were just tired of what but it is very disappointing. Seems like they don’t want to work there .

I had to edit my review as my wife got food poisoning as of last night after grabbing a wrap from your location as well as a vegetable juice yesterday. We are nursing our two month old baby so you can imagine how horrified and angry we are feeling at the moment!

Really enjoyed this place — cozy vibe, friendly staff, and great coffee. The espresso was smooth, and the pastries were a nice bonus. A solid spot to relax or get some work done.
Best spot for good coffee in metrotown. They also have a good variety of bags of beans to buy for home use, 3 rotating ND 2 or 3 permanent. They will grind for you if you need.
